Cattiveria (wickedness) is the unique necromantic Discipline of the Sangiovanni bloodline. It grants them control over the energies of death, allowing them to animate corpses to do their bidding and perform other unholy acts.

Cattiveria was developed as a replacement for the necromancy employed by the bloodline's founder, Lodovico Sangiovanni, before his Embrace. No longer able to employ mortal sorcery, Lodovico realised through his association with the Lancea Sanctum that the "animating force" which preserved vampires and could be loaned to living ghouls should also be able to enervate corpses and ectoplasm as well. He spent many years researching and perfecting the Discipline, and it resembles a scholarly pursuit in some ways more than black magic, despite its trappings.

Cattiveria (it. 'wickedness') or necromancy is the practice of manipulating the tainted essence of death toward such ends as raising seeping cadavers and enslaving specters and ghosts.

Basic Discipline Levels

• Mortician's Appraisal

Attuned to the state of death, the necromancer may either glean minor details about a corpse - the cause and time of death, the corpse's living appearance etc. - or sense the presence of nearby corpses.

•• Shuffling Porter

By imbuing a corpse with ectoplasm, the necromancer brings it to "life", though it rots quickly and is capable only of following direct, simple commands.

••• Ectoplasmic Manifestation

The necromancer summons black ectoplasm which may be used to heal the wounds of any animated corpse, including vampires.

•••• The Predator's Bequest

By means of a Vitae-infused kiss, the necromancer empowers a Shuffling Porter with greater physical and mental abilities, as well as a fierce loyalty to its master and some autonomy.

••••• Ultimo Respiro

Tears the animating ectoplasm from a walking corpse, destroying zombies and the like and severely injuring vampires.
