Significant Events
- Just after Leo Lockheart had officially welcomed everyone, Aquinas secured the attention of those present to introduce himself and challenge Avalon for the position of Hierarch of the Sacramento Consilium. He accused Avalon of poor leadership resulting in a struggling Consilium, warned that the Golden Consilium was looking to annex Sacramento and finished by invoking a Duel Arcane. Avalon accepted the Duel without flinching and soon after Leo called for a meeting in the dormitories between himself, Aquinas, Avalon, Kite, Ariadne, Ixidor and Animus.
Aquinas - “I have come to formally challenge Avalon, formally Dál Riata, of the Visus Draconis, Enchanter on the Path of the Thistle, Scion of the Watchtower of the Lunargent Thorn in the Realm of Arcadia, Hierarch to the Consilium of the Sacrament, Master of Space, and Walker of the Ways to a Duel Arcane.”[1]
Avalon - “I, Avalon, formally Dál Riata, member of the Visus Draconis, Enchanter on the Path of the Thistle, Scion of the Watchtower of the Lunargent Thorn in the Realm of Arcadia, Hierarch to the Consilium of the Sacrament, Master of Space, and Walker of the Ways, accept your challenge and your terms.”[2]
- The cabal Veiled Threats was declared to the Herald Orpheus who officially recognised them[3], however did not announce the new cabal to the gathered mages. A few mages (mainly the members of the new cabal) later commented negatively about this regarding Orpheus. [4]

Leo Lockheart, Orpheus, Star (then known as Cut), Faith, Animus and Striker attended this event, though Faith and Striker did not participate. Cut asked Animus for some tips on shooting before Leo started the event by taking his own five shots in quick succession. Striker arrived during Orpheus's shots and watched silently for the rest of the event. Animus shot last and won by a large margin but looked unhappy about the result, prompting Leo to mention that Animus and Vae had tied in the last Arrow Field Day[6] archery event[7]. Animus had no memory of Vae and Leo explained that she had left, possibly to Chicago while giving Faith a look indicating he thought she may have some information. If Faith did know anything, she was not forthcoming.
- Participants had 5 shots each and rolled Dexterity + Athletics + 1 Equipment bonus or Dexterity + Firearms + 1 Equipment bonus if the character had an Archery Specialty in Firearms.
- Participants also had a -2 penalty if they had no relevant Archery Specialty or Fighting Style Merit.

Cut noticed Striker removing his boots with his only hand leading to a brief conversation about how Striker handles things with missing arm and Cut suggesting he could try Archery by holding the bow string in his teeth. Cut and Asp then made a deal that the loser between the two of them would have to wear a propeller hat for a day.
Cut - "Loser wears a goofy propeller hat for a day? And only if we're doing this straight up, yo. No Lifey-Lifey mojo. Legit." [9]
Miach opted to run in his boots and kevlar vest.

Nothing overly remarkable happened at the event as the participants worked quietly. Having given up on the translation, Autolycus resorted to drawing dinosaurs out of Atlantean runes to keep himself amused. Bishop, mentally exhausted by the first round and hungry, found himself translating the words of the tie-breaker passage into something resembling a rant about food.
- Participants were asked to translate a passage from Theodore Roosevelt's, “Strength and Decency".
- Player's rolled Intelligence + Academics + any Linguistic specialities with no time limit and a target of 10 successes.
- The tie breaker was George S. Patton's Speech to the Third Army. and required only 7 successes.

After being beaten by Asp, Striker was angry to find out that she had fought while shielded (as he was not). Asp reminded him it was not against the rules and offered a rematch after he shielded himself in which she won again. During Leo and Asp's fight, after finding themselves evenly matched with the fight drawing on, Leo unleashed Celestial Fire on his opponent[14]. Asp seemed unconcerned, however from the sidelines Bishop yelled at Leo for his use of vulgar magic.
Bishop - "Kids, get your asses into a demesne for this kind of crap!"[15]
In the final match, Reverb requested tape only (no gloves) which Asp agreed to.
- Participants rolled the usual Strength + Brawl + Any appropriate bonuses alternately for three rounds/rolls.
- The winner was the one who inflicted the most damage.
