Significant Events

  • The Consilium of the Sacrament gathered at the Circle of Creation to witness the Duel Arcane between Aquinas and Avalon, also known as Dal Riata. The stakes? The mantle of Heirarch, and leadership of the Consilium[1].
  • Autolycus sought out members of the Mysterium who had not responded to his request for an introductory meeting in an effort to bring them into the fold.
  • After some socializing and plenty of comments from the peanut gallery regarding the Duel and the politics of the Consilium, Aquinas and Avalon began[2]. Leo Lockheart was selected to Square the Circle as a neutral third party[3].
"Everyone hold on to your asses." -Ixidor
  • After several barrages of Will, Aquinas overcame Avalon[4], and claimed the position of Heirarch. Various Awakened suggested that Avalon be tried, investigated, or let go.
  • Aquinas made the following announcements[5]:

1) The Lex Magica would be corrected and updated, with the Silver Ladder ordered to present the Heirarch with any and all precedents made within the Consilium.

2) Herald Orpheus was dismissed from service.

3) Two new Heralds would be selected. Zodiac of the Guardians of the Veil and Crowley of the Free Council were appointed[6].

4) Sentinel Animus and Sentinel Leo Lockheart would remain in service. They were to recommend two additional Sentinels, and report on all relevant threats to the Consilium.

5) Councilors would henceforth be drawn from Paths.

6) A new offensive would begin against the Banishers at Sacramento State University.

7) Sigil-Holders were to report in for re-recognition.

  • Aquinas also had a Sentinel escort Avalon out and home. She was free to go. Any investigation would be done appropriately by law[7].

Social Highlights

  • The Acanthus met up quickly, deciding who their Counselor would be by a quick vote triggered by Nous, who was supported by the path.
"I cannot argue with what Nous has said, from what I have heard, it sounds like there is a lot of work that needs to be done. And if Nous is willing and able to step forward, then she has my support." -Faye
"It seems settled then. I will sit on the council for our Path." -Nous
  • The Veiled Threats sans Zodiac (who was being Heralded) went to sit in an alcove and chat. There was some discussion of Avis being an awesome candidate for Sentinel, of Bishop being like Santa and yelling at Leo Lockheart, and most importantly, their need to volunteer for Aquinas's new offensive and be ready for Banisher reprisals.
If Zoey gets made a Herald, that's, like, going to put a huge target on her back. Sentinels, too. I'm just saying. We should think about think about that. Be more careful. Armors. Sights. It's gonna get real. We shouldn't, uh, wait for something to happen first. Like, expect retaliation."-Star
  • Leo Lockheart and Animus spoke about who should be the two new Sentinels. Leo pushed Weavebreaker and Avis, citing their different skill sets and suggesting that Asp would be a good backup if either Animus or Leo fell. Animus demanded he swear on his honour that Weavebreaker, a recent returner, would not have been influenced by her time staying at Sac State, which is known Banisher territory. Leo very quickly stood for his Cabalmate.
"Weavebreaker... I will accept conditionally. Are you willing to stake your honor on her being entirely free of Banisher influence? And to take personal responsibility for... cleaning up... should circumstances prove otherwise?"-Animus
"No reconvening necessary, I'll vouch for her now."-Leo Lockheart
  • Weavebreaker, Striker and Jonokuchi hung out, discussing Duels Arcane and the upcoming offensive. Weavebreaker had an idea for the Cabal to investigate and ambush Banishers, but Jonokuchi was concerned doing so on their own might interfere with the Consilium's official investigation.
"A plan? I believe we should start by cutting off their resources, severing any connections they have made. Without support, when we do strike, they will have nothing to rely upon. This will require some investigative footwork, certainly."-Jonokuchi
""That is exactly what this plan is about. We do not have a lot of intelligence, other than the area has a high concentration of Banishers. By using their curiosity, we can begin to put a face to the threat."-Weavebreaker
