History

Pre Awakening

Orpheus was an excellent student in school, Perfect straight A student all the way through college. That was, until he began to see things around school that just weren't reasonable around school grounds. People started dissappearing, and the only thing to show for them were unusually large piles of ash in alleyways. On the way home after he just finished getting his last degree, a nearby alleyway suddenly bursts into flames, unfortunately, this alleyway was rather close to a gas station, and although it didn't appear that the flames were nearly close enough to ignite any gasoline, they did. The explosion sent him flying into a nearby building, knocking him cleanly out, only, his soul kept on moving. When he woke up, he saw a figure standing nearby, the figure dropped a leather-bound book next to him and left, giving no explanation or so much as a hint. Upon examining the book, the pages were blank, except for one sentence placed in the very back of the book in what appeared to be red ink. "Reality isn't all it's cut out to be."

Post-Awakening

Confused and disoriented, Orpheus briefly wandered his way back into his old life, but finding himself feeling alienated from everyone in an unexplainable way. The few old friends he had now felt oh so distant, his work as a physicist suddenly felt like a crucial piece was missing, and he wanted simply to know why? The leather bound book had been placed on a bookshelf and never touched since the gas explosion. Orpheus opened the tome again two weeks after the incident to find a small sticky note with two phone numbers on it. The first number went to a man using the name Jack Fletcher, who was a fairly well known Mystagogue. Jack introduced Orpheus to the secret society of mages, inducting him into the mysterium and teaching him about the tapestry, magic, and of course the abyss, all three of which were so abstract and ridiculous that he would never have believed it if it weren't for the fact that he found himself able to subtly bend reality in normally impossible ways. The second phone number led to a hotel in Sacramento, which Orpheus eagerly took to believe as a clue to where the figure who had given him the book might be. Despite all attempts by Jack to make him rethink his plan, Orpheus quickly made accommodations to go to Sacramento. It was later during the flight where Orpheus received a message from Jack, saying that the person he'd been hunting for had been found and slain by a group of Guardians. Rather comically leaving him stuck on a flight to California, his stuff had already been shipped there as well. It was a clean slate he couldn't back out from.

Nimbus

While casting vulgar magics, arcs of electricity and light can be seen jumping from point to point on Orpheus' body, giving off a similar sound to a taser being used in the same room. the air begins to smell of ozone, and people's skin begins to feel like a cold draft of air has suddenly overcome them.

When activated by his virtue, The arcs of electricity originate primarily from his back, and form themselves to give the impression of wings.

When activated by his vice, people around Orpheus feel a shock run down their spine, and the way that the arcs of electricity move just seem wrong...
