To the Society of Sacramento:
We have had a rather exciting month of May. There was an intense discussion of the homeless matters addressed by several in a special conference. This meeting paid off as you will see later. We also had a new member who quickly met his fate at the hands of Deputy Conner Greyson. Edmund Carter had failed to respond to questioning on how he had gained previous knowledge of the city and its laws and also failed to answer truthfully about his affiliations. He is now among the collection in the closet. We also had another new arrival disappear, there will be further information regarding that at a later date.
We have had an increasing number of Mekhet join our city as of late, continuing to outnumber the steady number of Daeva and Ventrue.
Twenties Court[1]
The highlight of our month of May was the Official Court hosted by the Alice Brown and the Daeva Clan at the Ballo Della Notte Theatre. The decorum was beautiful with memorabilia from the 1920s along with music to add to the festivities. Miss Sarah LaFleur and Madam Alice Brown put together a beautiful performance that caught the eyes of everyone. Many of our guests participated marvelously with attire from that era as well. There were other dancers demonstrating styles from the Roaring 20’s genre and invite to participate. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
For the most part…
There were a few mishaps during this official court this month. Please keep in mind if you do not know rules of court, or have questions to please ask. There were a couple individuals who were escorted out and sent to the barrens because of this matter. Those of you who wish to inquire further on court behavior, please do not hesitate to ask a court official.
There were several announcements made during this court. A thank you was bestowed on Reeve Max Heinz, the Deputies; Bishop Anton Flores, Priscus Conner Greyson and Whip Thomas O'Connor for the resolve in matter of vagrant inconvenience. Miss Martha Villiers is now our new Herald along with Madam Ariana Donovan as the new Harpy. Mr. Jayant Nagaraj has returned and will re-assume his role as Regnant of Valencia. Please see the below quote from Alder Prince Clarke:
- “Miss Martha Villiers will be my Herald; treat her words as my own. Any question to her authority will be seen as a challenge of my praxis and will be met with displeasure."
- “If you have a grievance or matter of Law, please present it to Harpy Donovan, who shall determine whether it should be brought before Herald Villiers or myself."
The Reverend's Army
The Dilemma of the Homeless was resolved by a combination of both political cunning and aggressive direct action. The direct action was carried out by a combined formation of some of the Domains Kindred. The attacking force comprised: Reeve Heinz, Priscus Greyson, Priscus Ajax, Deputy O'Conner, Mr Anton Flores, Mr Sidor Grigoriev, Mr Anasztaz Veres, Miss Brenn Lawrence. They all displayed courage, daring and bold action. Herald Villiers supported in the closing stages of the Homeless last stand.
The rout of the Homeless was complete. Whilst innocent and benign elements of the Homeless population were cared for, then shipped away to other areas; there was a hostile core of homeless which had formed around the main agitator: the Reverend. A man of faith, he had, nevertheless, led a grotesque and ill fated personal war against Our Kind. It could end only one way. Using a ramshackle van, the Reverend and a small band of followers attempted to escape the destruction of their encampment. The attempt to escape was in vain. After a savage pursuit by the above named Kindred, their getaway vehicle was destroyed. Crashing along the Westside Freeway along by the river bend. The fighting between the few remaining followers of the Reverend took place in the river and along the riverbank. However, the followers were soon slain to the last man. The Reverend, after fighting a brutal hand to hand struggle to the death, died alongside his followers.
The conclusion of pursuit enabled the assault team to rescue Miss Jillian Malloy and Mr Joseph Hartman. Due to injuries inflicted by their captors, Miss Malloy and Mr Hartman will require a long period of time to recover from their injuries.
Reeve Max Heinz and Cassandra Dawes gave chase with Sidor Grigoriev and Anasztaz Veres in close support. The chase was broken off when the kidnapper fled onto the highway - it risked far too much to try a chase with civilians about and possible police interference. But it really highlights the danger of unauthorised Kindred in the city.
Other News
- The Gangrel have been chasing a rouge ghoul. He has risked breaching the Masquerade and hopefully this issue shall be resolved as son as possible. Thank you for your efforts.
- Also, there are no masks allowed in Court unless that is the party theme. This has become an issue as of late.
- Please also remember that we call our Sheriff the Reeve.
Clan Meetings
There will be several clan and covenant meetings coming up this month. Currently the Haunts are in meetings as well as the Dragons and Crones. Other meetings scheduled are the Shadows, the Lords (tba) and The First Estate (tba). There are still a few covenants that are lacking members. Remember, now is the time to join and do your part. Mr. Anasztaz Veres has been making wonderful efforts with the Ordo Dracul as well as David Silver with Circle of the Crone.
