Brenn Lawrence

Appearance

This young Nosferatu dresses in the ragged garb of a homeless person: torn, filthy jeans, a ragged "FIGHT THE POWER" T-shirt, a stained flannel jacket, and a pair of beat up Converse complete her ensemble. She stands slightly bent forward, her beanie clad head bowed so that her long, greasy, tangled hair obscures her features. Brenn's face is pale, pockmarked, greasy, and her upper lip is cracked open by a pronounced harelip. In contrast, her body is relatively untouched by the clan curse, as it is still fit and feminine, but her movements are marred by small spasms and jerks, as though Brenn can't entirely control her muscles.

History

Brenn Lawrence never would have thought that she would end up on the streets one day, and she certainly would never have imagined that she would be creeping along them as an undead creature of the night, either. Brenn’s father was an English professor who taught at a community college in Los Angeles and her mother worked as a nurse, meaning that she was rather well off compared to the majority of the cities’ inhabitants. She was surrounded by constant academic stimuli from a variety of sources and from an early age became fascinated with the realms between the black and white lines of books.

Nevertheless, Brenn still had a healthy zeal for life and loved to go rambling outdoors and trouping around with her friends on urban jaunts. Brenn and her close friends would foray at all hours around different parts of the city, trusting their luck and street smarts to keep them safe. Yet on one of these rambles Brenn and her friends were assailed by street toughs. Even to this day Brenn doesn’t like to remember that night but she never let the experience conquer her. Instead, once she was feeling confident again, she told her parents that she wanted to learn how to defend herself. Seeing this as a healthy outlet for their daughter they signed her up for self defense classes at a local gym which Brenn took very seriously. She eventually enrolled in a boxing club at a local gym, realizing that she would have to get used to fighting men just as experienced and far stronger than her if she wanted to be able to protect herself on the streets.

By the time she had earned her bachelor’s degree from USC Brenn was an avid and experienced boxer. The frequent workout sessions had honed her body until she was stronger than some men and could outlast many in the ring. She also never stopped exercising her mind and wrote frequently about local issues for small time papers or just for the fun of putting pen to paper. She still loved roaming around the city at all hours and this eventually led to tragedy as it had many years ago. For despite her ability to defend herself she was helpless against what would eventually be her executioner. On a romp through a park, a Nosferatu, which had been stalking her, killed her and took her back to its haven to perform the embrace.

Eventually this disturbing turn of events proved too much for Brenn and, upon seeing her mangled reflection, she turned upon her sire in a frenzy and left his torpid body for the sun to exterminate. Brenn became active as a neonate in LA where she eventually broke from a coterie to make her own way. Brenn began to slum amongst the vagrants of the city until one day she met a young woman, Kaylee, wasting away under the duress of madness. In Kaylee Brenn saw a person with no ties to anything and one who could help her during daylight hours as well as with other menial tasks and who, in return, needed to be taken care of. Thus with her new ghoul Brenn rejoined the Domain of LA and began using printed pamphlets to protest and wage whisper campaigns against those kindred or covenants she felt were harmful and cruel. This brought too much attention to her however and she had to leave the city.

Thus Brenn and Kaylee came to Sacramento, looking for a place to spend eternity. Hopefully…

Actions in Sacramento

Before disappearing, Brenn was able to assist the domain in breaking up the homeless Squattaville, combating the Insurgents, and assisted in bringing a masquerade nudging, wandering vampire to the Reeve's office.
