History:

Caution, below is the best that David can reconstruct of his memory. Accuracy is subject to change without notice.

David Silver was born the third son to a large New York family in the lat 1840s. What he lost against his brothers in looks, charm, and athletic ability, he made up for in a voracious appetite for books and knowledge. Too poor to go to college, and with a name that woudln't get him well considered anyway, he fell in accidently into the occult community. He applied to all the bookstores in the neighborhood, and only heard back from one, who wanted to know if he knew Latin. He lied and said he did, and from there began his employment at Quality Curios. Reading, Cataloguing and researching was day in and day out 7 days a week for him. Picking up latin on the sly proved a bit harder than he wanted, but eventually he was able to skate by long enough to learn the language. He dated occasionally, but nobody ever really stuck out. It was a long line of breakups and bad dates that plagued him for years.

Finally, to escape one particular woman who would not take no for an answer, he took a delivery job to the west coast. Some guy wanted a book in greek and by hell was he going to get it. So David took the train for several days to get to Sacramento, and found a mister Paresh Williams. Paresh spoke with him long into the night, and part of David wanted to leave, wanted to escape, but for some reason he was compelled to stay. He forwarded the money on to Quality Curios, but stayed behind in Sacramento, listening intently to all that Paresh had to tell him. Paresh hired David on to do research for him, and David spent the next several decades traveling the country, talking to people and reading books, hunting for more knowledge for his master.

And then in the 50s, Paresh made David his childe. David was taught to fight, to become strong in the mold of heroes before him, the challenge with books and fists those that threatened the Circle. For 15 years he quested, surviving danger and pain against terrors and monsters of the night. And for every creature vanquished, he would plunder their den, learning everything about them. Finally, he was given leave to leave behind the scorn of the Hero, and become a Father in the circle, to give birth to his own Childe.

And that went horribly wrong. Prince Straiphen was grudgingly willing to let it happen, and David selected the perfect choice, a young woman who loved her garden and artwork. Things get a little fuzzy, but the next thing David remembers was waking up several months later with Paresh murderous, Straiphen apparently still pissed, and A not very subtle prodding that the beatings would continue if he stayed around. And an ashed childe. Just because things weren't messy enough. Paresh encouraged him to enter torpor voluntarily this time, and awaken in about 30 years. Hopefully by then Straiphen's ire would have been relaxed, and William's anger would have calmed.

But the sleep of ages is unkind, especially to a fearful kindred. Much of his rituals were lost, his potent physical form wasted away, his wisdom last of all. But he clung to his knowledge, even in his fever dreams and pain. He would not loose his knowledge of the secrets of the world. The truths that he had fought so hard for.

And so he doesn't know how he knows ancient greek with a Thessalonian dialect, or where he learned stealth, or why he has a strange attachment to black cats. In fact, far too much of the journal left with him, telling him all of this was in Paresh's handwritting, and somethings felt unreliable. Some parts of his past were missing, forgotten, forged or hidden. But hopefully Straiphen isn't around to kick him more. After all, its been 40 years. Following some clues left behind allowed him to track down his old herd, the young children now full adults, and the occult community of sacramento that he had help plant the seed for. Now, to find out the political landscape, reintegrate into the Crone, and learn more of the past. What happened?

Ascension to Hierophant

Upon arriving in Sacramento, David found the Crone to be in disarray. The previous Hierophant was disgraced and in hiding, and her circle broken. He gathered together those of the circle together, Bogdana Blazsanyik and Chris Wooding. Seeing that Bogdana was still ignorant of the depths of the Crone, and Chris' headstrong attitude, David made a bid for Hierophant. Chris agreed, so long as he became the Vala. And that is how the three began their Woven Circle.

The Joy Cycle 2011-2012

David felt that to celebrate the beginning of a new circle, it was appropriate to begin with the Joy Cycle for the year. The beginning of the year, starting in the summer, started with the traditional day of Mourning. As they had just formed the circle, they had no one to personally mourn. (David did privately mourn the loss of his daughter). For the Fall Equinox, David let Chris begin the ceremony, wherein he brought int the base elements, and the circle welcomed Nao Zhong into the fold. Chis led the group through a three part ceremony, evoking the 3-4-5 triangle, a powerful mathematical symbol. David concluded the ceremony with admonishments that he was displeased with the Circle's disrespect for the Prince.

The Beautiful Death

David worked with Conner Greyson to help investigate the drug Red. Working with the hen Deputy, he was able to interrogate and then mystically follow a young punk, who lead them to their next lead.

David led Lance Rayner Jonathan Mclean and Ricardo Rodriguez through the underground near the Trailer Park. They discovered several humans hidden in a security room, along with a large growing operation of weed. The humans had obviously been fed on, and Rodrigo informed the group via translation that they were a breach, before frenzy took them.

David ordered them eliminated. Mclean hesitated, and refused to participate, but Lance attacked with vigor. Rodriguez fed on them. The bodies were savaged to remove traces of puncture marks, and the group continued to explore. They found another vampire, tied down and pinned with metal spikes. They rescued him, and discovered the Beautiful Death. They subdued him, and had Conner come and collect them.

Interrogation of the beautiful death turned up a bomb threat, which had the group scramble to clear Avalon.

The Vision

Leaving on a quest for greater understanding, David left the Circle to the experienced hands of Chris Wooding. He traveled far, and learned very little. In fact he became more than a little lost exploring the worlds of the goddess. Or perhaps he drank from too many stoned mountain men. Regardless, it took far longer, and he returned a bit changed from his old life.
