Cartomancer

The Mage is a Cartomancer, never without their Tarot deck. This Merit can be taught without a Mentor but the prerequisites still need to be fulfilled.

Divinatory Eye (•)

At this level the character gets a +2 bonus to any attempts to divine the future if they use a Tarot deck. The deck can also be dedicated as a Magical Tool.

Interpretative Draw (••)

Before casting a spell the character may draw a Tarot card to tell them how favorable the conditions for casting the spell are. Mechanically, you need to make a Wits + Occult roll to get a modifier to the next spell cast (this stacks with the High Speech bonus if the Mage chooses to spend another turn chanting).

• Dramatic Failure: The conditions are unacceptable. If cast, the spell causes Havok Paradox no matter whether it's vulgar or covert.
• Failure: Gain a -2 modifier on the next spell cast
• Success: Gain a +2 modifier on the next spell cast
• Exceptional Success: Gain 9-again on the next spell cast

Instinctive Draw (•••)

The same as Interpretative Draw, only the draw and interpretation is now a reflexive action.
