This game is accepting new character submissions!

This page is an venue specific addendum to the general Character Creation Rules. Please make sure that you have read the general rules thoroughly, as they apply as well.

Please direct all questions about Vampire character creation to the Awakening Storyteller(s), .

General

  • Characters begin with 30XP to spend after applying the Mage template. You should submit your basic(no Bonus XP) Character, and then post your Bonus XP Log to the Character Sheet that is subsequently created. Please do not include Bonus XP expenditures in your Character Submission.
  • No FOB/new Awakenings, unless you make arrangements prior to have a PC mentor who is wholly responsible for teaching and mistakes made. Otherwise, all PCs are expected to know the basics of Mage society and the player should read chapter 3 of the Mage Core in detail.
  • Mage does not use Flaws.
  • Mage does not use the Sloth Vice.
  • Please do not use rules/material from God Machine Chronicle, Fallen World Chronicle, 2E, etc...
  • Age of Awakening: The character cannot have awakened under the age of 18
  • Wisdom: May be dropped to 5 for the benefit of Character Creation XP
  • No Banisher, Proximi, or Seer Characters
  • No Left-Handed Legacies, or nearly Left
  • No Spatial Command from Tome of the Mysteries
  • No Temporal Command from Tome of the Mysteries
  • No To The Limit from Tome of the Mysteries

House Rules

Please review both the House Rules for Mage in general as well as specific item (spell, merit, etc) House Rules -- that was there's no surprises later.

Additional Specifics

  • Dedications: Are Subject to Approval at Character Creation and must be Clearly outlined in the Other section of the Character Sheet
  • Legacies: Mages may begin with a legacy so long as they meet all the requirements. The first attainment costs 8xp, which counts as a supernatural purchase.
  • Nimbus: Have a clearly detailed Nimbus in mind for your Mage, and submit with character. A character's Nimbus is limited to the five physical senses for effects; emotional/mental effects are not allowed.
Allowed Examples: Soft whistling can be heard. Temperature shifts. The mage seems further away or closer.
NOT Allowed Examples: All in the area feel sexually attracted to the Mage. All in the Area feel Angry.

Backgrounds

When writing up a background for your Mage, do not include any other supernatural templates in your background. Further, please be concise and only include highlights/details which are relevant to character approval.

  • It's not an essay writing contest
  • Save the prose to post as Glimpses
  • 5-7 sentences (a strong paragraph) should cover everything. If more is forced upon the ST, the application will be rejected.

This game has been running for some time, and it also shares a setting among the major venues. Sacramento history (as well as other major locations) is already in place/written. Please make sure that your history and background conforms to what's already been determined. Below is a listing of major locations and history that might affect your background.

Introducing yourself

All introductions and gaining of Consilium Status must be done in character. They are considered to have the contact information concerning the Head of their Order and the knowledge of the Consilium officers.

  • All characters coming from an established Consilium may have connections with those who have already appeared from those locations, or are still there, with permission from the other player. Out of Character discussions concerning past interactions with previously introduced characters should be done through the OOC discussion threads.
