Healing
Characters who face danger and who live to tell the tale still need time to recover physically. They need to heal their injuries. Short of being fatally injured or falling unconscious (see
Incapacitation), your character can continue to act while any of his Health boxes remain empty. If any of his last three Health boxes show injuries, he is debilitated with penalties to his dice pools, but he can still be up and around. Wounds recover at the following rates.
Bashing: One point is regained in 15 minutes.
Lethal: One point is regained in two days.
Aggravated: One point is regained in a week.
- Note that some supernatural beings can recover from injuries at abnormally fast rates, even regenerating them automatically or healing them at will. Humans (including Changelings), of course, do not have that luxury.
- The rates are in relation to when the scene enters continuity. (ex. 2 actual days after the scene closes)
- This is, as always, subject to the ST
Your character doesn’t have to rest or receive special attention to clear Health squares. They are cleared automatically as the prescribed amount of time passes. The exception is if he is ever reduced in Health such that he is dying (see above); this requires intensive medical care.
Lost Health is recovered on your character sheet from right to left — in the reverse direction in which wounds are recorded on your sheet. Your character’s least severe injury (that in the rightmost box) is recovered first. The damage marked in each box is erased as your character becomes progressively healthier, until his last (leftmost) box is empty and he is fully healthy again.
Mage Pattern Restoration
Mages can infuse Mana into their
physical Patterns to heal wounds.
- Three Mana points per one bashing or lethal wound.
- This is an instant action.
- Those mages unable to spend more than three Mana per turn can take as many consecutive turns performing this action as they need, until they’ve spent all three points. (It will take at least three turns for a mage with Gnosis 1, two turns with Gnosis 2, and one turn with Gnosis 3 or higher.)
Vampire Healing Wounds
A vampire can use Vitae to heal wounds.
- Spending Vitae to heal wounds is a reflexive action.
- In one turn, a Kindred character can expend one Vitae to heal two Health points lost to Bashing damage.
- In one turn, a Kindred character can expend one Vitae to heal one Health points lost to Lethal damage.
- In two nights, a Kindred character can expend five Vitae to heal one Health points lost to Aggravated damage.
Werewolf Regeneration
- Regenerate 1 bashing at the beginning of action for the turn (reflexive).
- May spend 1 essence to regenerate 1 lethal INSTEAD of 1 bashing (reflexive). This may be done even when unconscious.
- Without spending Essence, 1 lethal is regenerated every 15 minutes.
- Aggravated is healed at 1 point per week.
- Dead/unconscious Uratha immediately revert to Hishu.
- Immune to mundane infection and disease.
