Jillian Malloy, Katrina Scherbotsky and Ajax

• ^[2]Priscus Malloy ordered Kat and Ajax to find clothing for Kat that fit the dress code of the court.

"Kat, baby, you look great but your not dressed for this party. Its a White Party. The Bulk of your Gear gotta be White. Yours ain't hon, so you gotta roll outta here and find somethin that is." - Jillian Malloy

"Sorry Jillian, the primary colour of this dress is white. I do not own a pure white dress because the only ones that look any good are designer and thats out of my price range. This was the closest fit I have in my wardrobe. The theme said white, so I figured this would be ok. If it said pure white I would not have been able to come." - Katrina Scherbotsky

"Kat where are we right now?" - Jillian Malloy

"We are in court Jillian. What I am trying to say is.... its this or I go home and stay home. I have no other option. I am not exactly a millionaire. Are people really going to care that a 1950's dress has a few black flowers on it?" - Katrina Scherbotsky

"You know, I think we are beyond the dress here. Who am I?" Before Kat could answer, "Your Priscus, that's right, And when your Priscus tells you to do something. You do it. Whip Ajax. Will you accompany Ms. Sherbotski out of the Prince's court, take her to a local Target, for all I care, and find her a White Dress. Before the Prince shows up and she embarrasses us all." - Jillian Malloy

Erika Brady and Conner Greyson

• ^[3]Conner Greyson informs Erika Brady, his regent, that he has been accepted into the First Estate. This brings up a interesting line of dialogue.

"Regent, I have been accepted into the First Estate. With the assistance of Lady Seneschal Stamford's Sponsorship." - Conner Greyson

"Well, then, congratulations are in order. I myself considered them, or the Dracul, more than once," Erika replied. "Speaking of the First Estate, do you remember Quinton Jones?" - Erika Brady

"Vaguely," Conner says, "A member of the First Estate, but I am not privy to what became of him." - Conner Greyson

"Very well, it gives us something to talk about later," she said, smiling. "You weren't at the February 13th Court before, were you?" - Erika Brady

"No Regent, I was not. I was away on *beat* family business. Perhaps we could have a meeting later this week? To discuss Mister Jones?" - Conner Greyson

"Whenever, I'll find you at Court." - Erika Brady

Ciara Maskelyne and Argent

• ^[4]Ciara Maskelyne approachs the unflabable Argent curious and somewhat perterbed by his comings and goings.

"and just when I thought the women of the city would be safe to leave their bedroom windows open at night..." - Ciara Maskelyne

"Although no doubt they'd be snuggled up to watch 'The L Word'." A hand goes up to his mouth and he laughs daintily. "Oh my, did you catch that? I made a funny. Hardly. Put a check in my funny box and let's move on. You've missed me, I won't make you say it." - Argent

"Ms Brown, Alice Brown. A pleasure to meet you deputy Heinz." - Alice Brown

"Well, Ms Brown, Alice Brown; I hope the evening finds you well. I haven't seen you at any of the usual social functions before, are you a recent arrival to the city?" - Max Heinz

"That is right, this is my first week in Sacramento. It is not always easy to find our secret society, but this particular club pulled my attention somehow." - Alice Brown

Ariana Donovan & Conner Greyson

• ^[6]Ariana Donovan and Conner Greyson have a interesting Conversation that delves somewhat into the Mysteries of their past.

"I am surviving," Conner said again giving no actual emotions. "How is Lord Bainsworth?" - Conner Greyson

“Other than a letter, I have not physically seen him since sometime last year. That can be typical of him though. What brought you to Sacramento, Mister Greyson?” - Ariana Donovan

"Returning Home after concluding Family Business." Conner said, answering the small talk. Conner hated small talk. Small talk was something used by people two stupid or weak or self conscious to enjoy the sound of silence. "And you Miss Donavon? What brought you here?" - Conner Greyson

“To answer your question, I am here because I received a letter from Lord Bainsworth stating it was in my best interest to move to Sacramento, as events were spiraling out of control in New York. He thought because of my involvement with the media that I would be a target. To be perfectly honest Mister Greyson, I have not physically spoken to Lord Bainsworth since the few weeks before you and I were to have had our meeting. I had only been receiving correspondence by text messages or letters." - Ariana Donovan

"I can't say I am terribly disappointed to hear that things have gone poorly since my blood hunt." Conner said with a bit of a huff. "I also can't say I am terribly sorry I did not make an easy target for you and your Lord, Miss Donavon" - Conner Greyson

“Easy target for me? Mister Grey, what are you talking about?” The shocked look on Ariana’s face was clearly a sign he was leaving out some knowledge. Her smile had completely faded from her face. “Could you please explain what you mean by your statement?” - Ariana Donovan

"I find it odd you would not take pride in the roll you played." - Conner Greyson

“Mr. Greyson, what I find odd, is that I do not know what you are referring to regarding pride.” Her tone was serious and slightly perturbed. “Please, tell me what is going on? Clearly you can see I do not know a thing of which you speak." - Ariana Donovan

"These are Private words for a Private place. Cheyenne will be waiting after court, if you truly do not know the seed of my rage, go to her. She will bring you to me." - Conner Greyson

Heathcliff Staley & Sidor Grigoriev

• ^[8]Heathcliff Staley and Sidor Grigoriev meet for the first time and discuss there philosophies of the Lancea Sanctum.

"In my home city, I was amongst the Sanctified, and I was happy to find your presence here. I am just a pilgrim, listening for the words of God." - Sidor Grigoriev

"Ah, you are Sanctified, yourself. That is most satisfactory, Sidor. You say you have been listening for the words of God, but tell me, please- have you heard any?" - Heathcliff Staley

"If you mean 'do I hear voices', Bishop, no. I seek to understand God's Will through study and His revealed guidance. I believe it is for us all to attempt to understand what the Lord's design is for us." - Sidor Grigoriev

"Very good," Heathcliff says, "We will have to speak at greater length in the coming nights. If you'll excuse us now, please, I must speak with the Deacon privately." - Heathcliff Staley

Regency Duals

• His Majesty Alder Prince Asa Clarke calls his court to order and announces the Duels for Regencies.^[9]

"Tonight is a night of opportunity, and that opportunity will also be the entertainment. Regent Nagaraj is returning to his homeland, and I've decided to put his Regency 'up for grabs'," he continued, arching an eyebrow and smiling. "Contenders will duel until one remains, and they will be awarded praxis. Each duel will take place up here," Asa said, tapping the catwalk with his foot. "And continue until one party surrenders, is rendered unable to continue, or is forced off of the catwalk." - Asa Clarke

Round 1

Malloy v Staley

• ^[10]The first dual is between Jillian Malloy and Heathcliff Staley. Jillian uses Protean Claws and attacks Heathcliff. Heathcliff took the attack and did not seem to fight back untill forcing Jillian off of the catwalk with Pharaoh's Paces.

"My sins and faith run deeper than any wound you can inflict," Heathcliff Staley

"God damn Jesus Magic. Couldn't fight me straight up. Next time I get ah hold o him he won't need to walk on water he will be floating in chunks. Ain't no chance of resurrecting in 7 days or whatever." - Jillian Malloy

Ajax v Flores

• ^[11]In the next dual Ajax battled Anton Flores in a bloody knife battle. Anton Flores was victorious.

"Nice fight." - Ajax

"Fine fight," he agreed. "Went hard." - Anton Flores

Dirge vs Scherbotsky

• ^[12]The dual between Dirge and Katrina Scherbotsky actually involved two sets of claws. Katrina's Protean Claws and the claws of Dirge's Ghoul Cerberus. With help from Cerberus Dirge is able to torper Miss Scherbotsky for the victory.

"Claws? You little fuck!" - Dirge

Greyson v Von Schusten

• ^[13]After a blindingly fast battle Conner Greyson pressed the attack and Von Schusten chooses to step off the catwalk. Which leads to another interesting turn of events

"Do keep it in the family." - Von Schusten

"Priscus Von Schusten, I challenge you for the position of Priscus and ask that you step down. If you do not I will be forced to take it by Monomancy. I have found the weakness you show today, your inability to make decisions and lead lacking.” - Conner Greyson

Argent v Hartman

• ^[14]After Argent lands a powerful attack on Joseph Hartman, Joseph uses his Lordly Powers to command Argent off the stage.

"Gah!" New experience, getting stabbed. Joseph looks Argent in the eyes. "Walk off this catwalk!" - Joseph Hartman

Round 2

Hartman v Staley

• ^[15] Joseph Hartman is forced off the catwalk by Heathcliff Staley's Pharaoh's Paces.

"A long time coming, eh, Mr. Hartman?" - Heathcliff Staley

Dirge v Flores

• ^[16]After a tandem attack by Dirge and her Dog Cerberus, Anton Flores is torpered.

"Good luck, and I'm sorry for this," - Dirge

Round 3

Dirge v Staley

• ^[17]There is a Clash of wills and a display of power, but again the Dog makes the difference and Heathcliff Staley falls to torper.

A Challenge for Priscus

• ^[18]After what Conner Greyson called a show of cowardice he challenges Von Schusten for the position of Priscus of the Mekhet.

"Priscus Von Schusten, I challenge you for the position of Priscus and ask that you step down. If you do not I will be forced to take it by Monomancy. I have found the weakness you show today, your inability to make decisions and lead lacking.” - Conner Greyson

"Have you now, Mr. Greyson." And though his voice remained low and even, there was an undeniable undercurrent disapproval. "And you think you could do better, who so recently professed to be a Neonate whose youth leads him to stupidity? You, who mistake temperance for weakness? Do you even realize that knowing when to fight is infinitely more important than knowing how? Did you even think to consult your Sponsor in the First Estate before moving so recklessly in such a setting as this?" - Von Schusten

“You have been tested, and have been found lacking.” Conner said to the soon to be former Priscus. “I have tested you on nearly our every interaction since my return. In regards to knowing when to fight, I have been waiting and judging you since our first interaction at McKinley Park, May 19th of last year. I have questioned you, pushed you, prodded you, and even showed fealty to you. Each time you have failed in your duties. You speak of my Invictus Sponsor, I find it interesting you are informed of the inner workings of the First Estate.” Conner looked to every member of the Invictus present, to each his eyes were lowered with respect. “With immense respect to every member of the First Estate here, I would hope that they would respect my ambition. I would hope they would act fairly in their judgment of me, which I will submit myself to in due time. But for now, accept my challenge or step down.” - Conner Greyson

"And I would mention that revisionist histories and half truths make for weak arguments at best, especially when they serve as its foundation. I have stepped forward when appropriate for my position, or have you already forgotten the expedition to fish you from that miserable little hole you found yourself trapped in?^[19] And I have acceded it in the presence of more influential officials of the Domain when appropriate." Had the man expected him to attempt to order around Victoria and Twist during the Blood Hunt? "You sound as though you expect me to fulfill the role of your Sire. Simply because you lack a proper education from him or her does not mean that the Priscus of every city you drift through is about to assume full extent of his duties. And if I have to cut you down to prove to you your folly, well, the thought is hardly an unappealing one. Though I would first ask if any of our clan-mates present would like to offer any input on the matter? As this is a matter that concerns the entire clan, not just the two of us." - Von Schusten

"Conner has also stepped forward into risk but without the benefits of a position. You also question his timing, but could he have picked better? Shadows we may be -- but insubstantial we are not. I also have no clue what his Sponsor in the Invictus has to do with our Clan, or it's leadership. I don't understand why that was brought up, at all, because it just sounded like a desperate attempt to get him to back down." - Ishani Naetesh

"Gentlemen...you have invited my comments. If it please you: I have no bitterness or ill feeling towards either of you. I consider you both fine gentlemen - gentlemen with whom I have no quarrel and feel more than fairly treated by you both. Therefore, sirs: I cannot, in truth, decide to side with either of you in this matter and conflict. It is a rivalry that you must investigate and resolve to your own mutual satisfaction by whatever tests and competition you feel appropriate. Sirs: I truly wish you both well." - Martha Villiers

But as I said, my opinion matters little at this moment. One of you will be standing at the end of tonight, on will not. But know this, Mr Greyson. Should you be victorious tonight, I will congratulate you on your martial prowess, but you will not be my Priscus. I do not believe the path to ascension lies through simple, brute strength. If murder and ambition were the only qualifications for power, half the people here would be Kings..." - Max Heinz

"Priscus Von Schusten, Mister Greyson, I regret that this situation has come to the point of no return. I have respect for both of you but as Clan Whip I cannot allow my personal feelings on this issue to interfere with what is best for the Mekhet of the Domain of Sacramento." He looks at both Kindred. "It seems that debate or a Family conference would not be able to solve this problem and that both of you are unable to put aside these differences." He makes an extra effort to compose himself. "This feud must end, and if there is only one way for it to conclude then Alea iacta est." - Thomas O'Connor

"That miserable hole he was trapped in was because he was patrolling my Domain," Erika Brady says, moving forward. "A Domain in which you freely Hunt but have never even done me the courtesy of a 'Thank You' or 'Good Evening', Von Schusten. Indeed, there is more to being Priscus than martial ability... such as knowing your Clan. commanding our Blood. Of the second, I can only assume you have not, but of the first, I assure you, you have not. You have taken your position as much for granted as you have my largesse, a largesse you doubly insult by taking my Hound to task for keeping it tidy. You have turned a simple challenge into a spectacle, summoning our entire Clan to be put on display because you would rather our words accomplish the task for you. Know that I am not your do-bitch; I will not fight your fights for you, nor will I continue to provide you succor within my Domain." - Erika Brady

"Aparently Misterr Grayson feels that Mekhet family matters seem to take precedence over the events that his majesty himself is presiding over, while Priscus Von Schusten sees fit to extend and continue this disruption by turning this into a public debate. This is a royal court and you will both remember yourselves. This is not a Mekhet family meeting and you will not turn this into one by dragging your squabbling into a public forum. Now a challenge has been made, and in the interests moving the evening forward and unless Mister Greyson has had a change of heart, is there an answer Priscus? Do we need to make a formal petition to the Prince for monomacy based on Mister Greyson's challenge for it if required?" - Victoria Stamford

• Von Schusten chooses not to accept the challenge from Conner Greyson and leaves court.^[20]

• Conner Greyson claims the position of Interim Priscus until a meeting of the Mekhet is called.^[21]

"The position of Priscus is vacated. If it pleases Your Majesty, I claim this position until such time a meeting of clan Mekhet can be held to settle any and all disputes." - Conner Greyson

• Conner Greyson is officially named Priscus at a meeting of the Mekhet held end of February 2011^[22]

Aftermath

• ^[23]With the duals complete and the issue of Mekhet priscus dealt with for now Prince Asa Clarke makes announcements and decides on how the competition will be decided.

"While the Hierophant has demonstrated the power of her Clan, I think it would be unsportsmanlike to ask her to continue against an opponent who has fought fewer rounds, and less... fearsome weapons. I offer this compromise: both parties may agree to joint Regency, or we will re-schedule the final duel for one month from now," - Asa Clarke

"Maximillian Heinz is now the Sheriff of the Domain, with full authority to enforce my Laws across the entire Domain. Know that hampering an investigation or failure to render aid to Sheriff can be construed as treason." - Asa Clarke

"Secondly, that Mr. Giessen has left the Domain as well as Mr. Nagaraj. The Regency of Rosemont-Mather is bestowed upon my Seneschal, Lady Stamford." - Asa Clarke

Conner Greyson & Dirge

• ^[24]Conner Greyson and Dirge have a discussion and decide to have another dual at the next court in order to settle the regency issue.

"I can honestly say the thought of a duel with such an accomplished combatant as your self does interest me." Conner paused, "But all the same I do have some history with your Clan and do hold them in High regard. If I may, what is your opinion on the matter? And does this city have a Necropolis?" - Conner Greyson

"Well I'll come out at say it first. While deciding the matter holds a certain appeal, I would be willing to set that aside and have joint control. No this city does not have a necropolis and it is something that I have great interest in starting. With the disruption of the brood I might be able to actually look into settling one." - Dirge

"How would you recommend we divide the territory if we are to share it?" - Conner Greyson

"Do you really think now is the proper time to discuss how things will be divided...while the Prince and the entire court hangs on a response from the two of us? I have expressed my willingness to work with you as a joint regent unless it becomes clear that isn't possible. We can always work out the details at some other time. I believe Prince Clarke is just looking for a yes, no, a fuck you...something." - Dirge

"I had hoped we could arrange this civilly. Since I would have the unfair advantage, I propose, with Prince Clarke's approval, that we arrange for a duel at the next court." - Conner Greyson

"Civil?! Are you kidding me," Dirge asked honestly surprised and stood dumbfounded at the mekhet for a brief moment. "I was being civil. I was also attempting to have a conversation with you pleasantly, while you ignored everything I had to say and refused to answer any of my own questions. I think we are done here before either one of us says anything further to worsen the situation. Prince Clarke first of all I apologize for my appearance. Furthermore, I regret to inform you that I was unable to have a productive conversation with Mr Greyson. It appears he was more interested in drawing out the conversation, being evasive, uncommitted, and indecisive. It appears we will have to settle this by dual at a later date." - Dirge
