Katrina Scherbotsky

Appearance

• Katrina is is 5ft10 and has brown hair and brown eyes. She has an athletic body but surprising strength for a woman of her size. Katrina speaks with a Russian accent that she makes no attempt to hide.

• Katrina usually wears more formal clothes for court. The clothes are not designer; they are usually what you would find at the mall or on the high street.

• Amongst friends she wears more informal clothes. Jeans, t-shirt and trainers. Despite not wearing pretty dresses the clothes are still nice. It becomes evidentially clear that it’s not the clothes that make her so good looking.

Personality

• At court Katrina is usually pleasant and polite; she gives the impression of being a nice person with the hint of a darker side. Court is a formal occasion and she tries to remember that at all times.
• With friends Katrina is laid back and each friend seems to be treated as an individual. She certainly has a cheeky side to her. With the Gangrel she tends to be like one of the boys.

History

Katrina was born in Voronezh, Communist Russia in around 1950. Her family lived in communal accommodation, a one room ground floor apartment that was no bigger than 1000sq ft. Her mother was a housewife, as was expected of women at the time. Her father was an accountant, a damn good one at that. Her father knew how to manipulate the bureaucracy as well as siphon off and hide money. Naturally he was recruited by the K.G.B, at the time you did not refuse them (You still don’t).

Her father hated working for the K.G.B and was eager for her to be able to defend herself if she ever had to. When Katrina was 16 a K.G.B agent set her father up. Her father fled and went into hiding. The K.G.B hounded Katrina and her mother for information on the location of her father. Growing impatient they kidnapped the two of them and tortured them for 3 days for information. Katrina’s mother talked and Katrina was tortured for a further 3 days because she dared defy them.

She returned home, a changed girl. Next time the K.G.B came knocking she would be ready for them. She spent the next two years dedicating every bit of spare time to practicing her combat skills.

When she was 18 she was embraced. She started learning the ropes, however her sire did not let her out of his sight for some time. The first time he did she headed to a local K.G.B meeting and slaughtered the lot of them in revenge. Her sire was furious.

However he got over it and after a few years of operating in court and occasionally helping the sheriff the prince made her his Deputy. This was a relief to the sheriff whose workload seemed to never end and Katrina did well at her job.

Two years ago a member of the court who was as popular as the prince decided to stage a take-over. It did not take long before the city was divided, The Prince VS Robert. The prince being politically savvy knew he had to beat Robert on fair terms, simply ordering him to leave the city or his destruction would cause a much bigger problem.

The war of influence went on for a year, things were still neck and neck. Katrinah was busy bringing in law breakers and in the end the instructions were to execute on sight. The city was crumbling under the collective weight of the two vampires. Something had to give.

One night the prince called her to his office, It was unlikely but should he lose she would promise to leave the situation alone. He knew her too well. The prince was more than an employer he was her friend. He understood if he died she would be after Robert.

Towards the end Robert came to her, the battle was heating up and he was trying to convert the princes strongest supporters to his cause. Katrina told him to go fuck himself. He warned her that if it went badly for the prince then she would also have to suffer the consequences.

The Prince lost and Robert took the throne. Katrina was ordered to leave the city, she felt it was best to get out of Russia. She did not want Robert causing her more problems. She decided to head to the US. Somewhere warm. She originally went to Florida, found it was full of old folk and set off for the golden coast. Sacramento seems the perfect location, it is big enough to live in but small enough for safety. Just to make sure Robert doesn’t try getting her run out of here.
