The large Victorian bulk of Edna's Boarding House awaits those in search of a room for rent in a rather unremarkable residential neighborhood. Surrounded by a tree-filled yard with a well-tended garden, the house actually looks rather warm and inviting in the daytime. However, there is always just the tiniest hint of something mysterious lurking behind it's cozy facade once the sun has set. Those familiar with local history will remember some of the details of the massacre that took place here a few years ago, when the owner, Edna Fritz, was found with twelve other bodies completely drained of their blood. In the gruesome aftermath of this horrible event, recent resident Betony Rue Jasons courageously took it upon herself to maintain the day-to-day operations of the boarding house, despite the fact that local authorities have never been able to solve the terrifying multiple homicide.

Unbeknownst to Sacramento's Finest, the mass murders were committed by the rogue Scarecrow Minister, Peter Milford and his fetch(better known to members of the freehold as Skin'n'Bones and the Bogeyman), who were dealt with accordingly by the Tolltaker Knighthood. Ms. Jasons continues to run the Boarding House in honor of the deceased Mrs. Fritz, and has continued her tradition of hospitality by welcoming any members of the Lost community in need of food and shelter. As the Autumn Queen, Betony Rue has also established her walled Victorian garden hollow as a safe refuge for all members of the Court of Fear who have sworn themselves to the freehold. Streetwise residents of Sacramento might have heard rumors that the Boarding House is the place to go if they can't be seen at the hospital. After all, real doctors will ask how you got those gunshot wounds...

At the turn of Spring in 2016, Betony Rue and her fellow Sovereigns took their leave from the Freehold, leaving control to those who remained, who then voted for their respective Sovereigns. When Ava Campbell was chosen to be the Dread Lady of Autumn, Terri Nutkins offered to run Edna's as its manager during Betony Rue's absence.
