Garden Grounds is a popular coffee spot in Sacramento. The outside looks like another quaint shop with flowing cursive lettering on the windows depicting the name, Garden Grounds. There are decorative metal tables and chairs painted white. The entrance was old battered green painted wooden door leading to another world all together. Cascading colorful flowers hang around the windows, door and in various planters.

Upon entering, you will encounter hundreds of wisteria flowers in various vibrant colors, hanging from the ceiling interwoven through lattice work. Soft warm lights dance like fairies within the flowers. At night the effect looks like a midsummers sky with lights twinkling here and there. The tables have rounded jars each with a colored rose and soft light giving off a romantic and whimsical glow. But Garden Grounds has recently undergone an update! While the hanging wisteria is still there on the ceiling, it isn’t as abundant as it once was. There is still the magical feel to it, and the effect of a midsummers night sky with the lights, but it’s minimalized. Now you’ll find various couches and chairs, used, but lovingly reupholstered throughout the shop. Some are gathered around smaller tables for more intimate gatherings, while some are solo for that patron who just wants to read and sip coffee. There are live trees placed here and there with fairy lights winding around their tiny trunks, giving the room a soft and inviting vibe. There are French doors that open into an enclosed outdoor seating area. None of the trees are fake, but have been built around, with seating worked around them. A koi pond can be heard bubbling near some hanging seats.

The weekends offer live music, both in the form of local bands and an open mic night.

The menu of the coffee house offers the standard variety mixture of coffees and teas. Seems the owner has caught wind that there is edible glitter and as created a few specialty drinks with the shimmering substance on top. Seen under the soft lights in the evening, the drinks seem to dance and come to life. A new addition to the menu is bubble tea! Which is iced tea with various flavors of boba added to it. Delicious pastries of varying flavors are offered and often change from month to month. One thing not offered is alcohol. Free wifi is offered, as well as many charging stations should anyone need them. The Lost of Sacramento will know that boarding is also offered to those who need it. Above Garden Grounds are 2-3 rooms with a full kitchen and a bathroom.
