Appearance

5'11", Fair-skinned and thin, Truce does not appear to get out much, choosing instead to pursue more studious endeavors. He appears as a typical college student, wearing button up shirts, slacks, and a sports coat at times. His hair is dark brown and wavy, his eyes hazel.

History

His family moved from Virginia to Arizona in the nineties after Paul was born, trying to find an affordable home in the aftermath of the real-estate collapse. His mother was a homemaker while his father held a school teacher position. Paul was calm and studious in his upbringing, introverted, and did not make friends easily.

His high school experience brought the most out in Paul, being very active in clubs and academics. He met his high school sweetheart, Chelsea, through the science club. However, after his graduating year Chelsea died under mysterious circumstances. She had gone missing for weeks before her body was discovered. Paul had followed the investigation closely, even going so far as to search the town and surrounding wilderness in hopes of some clue to her disappearance.

The eventual discovery was made by a medium who assisted the investigative team. However the details of the autopsy were sketchy and inconclusive and no means of death were found. Paul became inconsolable in his grief. It was made worse by the unanswered questions he had regarding her passing and the involvement of the medium in the investigation. So he began to research the subject himself, dipping into forensics and the occult in his search for closure.

He began to have disturbing dreams.

In it he would meet Chelsea at the base of a tower surrounded by a thick gloom. He would try to speak with her but her words were incoherent like an archaic language. Eventually the dreams began to creep into his waking mind and he thought he could see the figures of the deceased walking through his classroom. The result was a panic attack that led his parents to seek counseling.

When alone with the psychologist for his first session the man revealed himself to be the very same medium who investigated Chelsea's death. The man explained that Paul was going through a very specific change, that he was starting to awaken to the supernal forces surrounding him and that this was both marvelous and dangerous. He suggested that they use their sessions together to help Paul understand these changes and to develop the abilities that would come of it.

With the aid of his psychologist, a man named Seele, Paul was able to come to terms with the passing of his girlfriend, communicating with her lingering ghost in hopes of finding her killer. However, even Seele's efforts were not enough to unravel the mystery, only that the one responsible had fled Northwest towards California. Unable to discover the reason for her demise, Chelsea's ghost lingered, so Paul reattached her anchor to his school yearbook until such a time as he could lift her burden.

In time Paul came to learn of his connection down the Moros Path. When he graduated he decided he would pursue a degree in psychology with the intention of joining the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health (LACH) at the University of Arizona. Unfortunately it was not to as Banishers had a growing presence in the campus which interfered with his studies. He spent enough time there to earn his Bachelors in Psychology and a secondary degree in Forensic Medicine.

Using the excuse of pursuing an internship in Sacramento, Paul decided to travel in hopes of resolving Chelsea's unresolved business. He believed she was the unlucky party in a rogue Mage's ritual sacrifice, or some other sinister nature masked by supernal tampering. Only through his efforts would the shadow of Chelsea's soul finally find peace.

Since Arrival

Arriving to a city in chaos and turmoil, Truce tries to get his bearings along with several others who have just come into the city. Threats from Banishers, echoes of Scelesti plots, and infighting among the Orders do not ease Truce's mind. One of his first encounters with the Consilium presence begins with the death of a Sleeper. Investigating him and the ghosts that linger, Truce traces a murder back to a man named Bishop, a member of the Guardian of the Veil in the city. He discovers that Chelsea is one of many victims that were claimed by the Scelesti that moved through the area years ago that Bishop had exposed.

At the Consilium gatherings, Truce is quick to meet those he needs to. He is encouraged to join not only an Order, but a Cabal during his stay in the city. It isn't long before he joins forces with a pair of newly arrived Apostates, Gyges & Damascus, and a pair of Libertines, Crowley & Einstein. But their union is overshadowed when the Apostates are invited to a meeting with notable Guardians, Nous & Zodiac. An argument breaks out among the group and they separate on less than friendly terms. Yet Gyges's efforts are quick to patch up their differences and regard the incident as water under the bridge. Thus Temoins du Sud is formed.

Still without an Order, Truce begins to look into membership with the Mysterium & Silver Ladder to determine a suitable place for him to assist the efforts of the Pentacle. He discovers that his Councilor, Mace, is in need of assistance investigating a Ghost that has been haunting an area outside Sac-U. And after meeting with a member of the Mysterium, Miach, and of the Silver Ladder, Pepper, he ultimately makes the decision to join the Silver Ladder and help bring the Consilium back to order. As such, his membership among their Order and within a Cabal gives him eligibility to fulfill the Provost position when his Path gathers to meet.
