No one will believe in you when you don't believe in yourself. You speak of standing, and of trust, and at the same time you embarrass yourself and Miss Wells for putting her faith in you. When trust comes so rarely, you would scorn it, and demonstrate that you neither appreciate or are worthy of it?" - Asa Clarke

- Priscus Clarke proposes a question of the two women. One that may completely alter the future for one of the woman. [10]
- "Which of you is a Lord of Lords? If I recuse myself, which one of you is worthy of being Priscus?" - Asa Clarke
- "It seems we are all agreed, then. I will let the Seneschal know that Miss Stamford is Acknowledged and is to be the Ventrue Priscus." - Asa Clarke
