Life Before

Di-Xia always wanted to be an artist, but materials were cost money, money that she nor her parents had. Her mother had already lost her British citizenship, for the simple crime of marring father. Di-Xia was being harassed by the eugenics society and once that got out, no one wanted to hire a 'half breed mutt', so she was doomed to work in her father's friends apothecary in Chinatown. Then the War came.

Lost and Sold

During the Blitz Di-Xia was lost in the chaos, when she tried to find shelter, she stumbled into the Hedge instead. She was soon discovered by Hobbs and taken to the Slave Pens. Di-Xia had always wanted to be an artist. And to her greatest regret the hobbs made it so. The hobbs set her to work during Market hours where she spent hours, upon hours mindlessly sculpting. She met many during those hours and only one she would call friend. When The Margave of Westwind's North Violets saw her working her craft he had to have her. So the Margrave bought her, for the exorbitant fee of twelve cracked, cat's eye marbles, six unopened cans of tuna and a whistle. She was brought to his estate and was tasked with creating animal like constructs to guard the borders of his lands. Work, and work, she did, until only the largest and most magnificent creations would come to know life. Larger, and larger they became, and so she needed to stretch herself up, and up, until even that failed. To make up the difference she crafted new legs for herself, so that she might reach these daunting heights.

Escape

It was her Masterwork that allowed her escape. By her own blood, sweat and tears she worked endlessly on one last massive construct. A guardian beast, the head of a dragon, hooves of an ox, a scaled armored hide, with a lion's tail. So great was this beast that the Margave called all of his court to witness it's unveiling. As the Margrave and his court stood in awe at her creation Di-Xia took this moment to sneak away, only to be spotted by her own creations when she hit the property line, but those constructs knew her as their mother and allowed her passage. She fled from her creations and was lost in the Thorns, wandering alone for so long. Luck, or Fate would have it that she caught sight of a very familiar shadow, her only friend, and he led her back out through the Thorns.

Life After Arcadia

Daisy and Syghimye stumbled out of the Hedge and into 2008. It was jarring to say the least. She spent a few years in London relearning how the world worked, until she decide to travel to America, where her blunders could be taken as cultural differences, and not temporal ones, and choosing New York City. Where she joined the Spring Court. She stayed within the Freehold, named the Fortress of Coins until she was fed up with the petty one-upmanship between the Summer and Autumn Courts, finally deciding to travel to Sacramento for the start of the New Year. Daisy paints, sometimes, and sculpts almost everyday, and is growing in renown within the art world for her surreal fantasy sculptures.

Description

Mask

A slim and petite women, of seemingly fragile beauty. With hair as black as a raven wing, kept long, either loose around her shoulders, or pulled back into a bun. A fair complexion, with delicate features. While she enjoys the freedom of today's female fashions, she still finds it distasteful with the amount of skin young women are showing, preferring to wear cheongsam, either as full length dress or a more comfortable qipao tunic paired with soft trousers or long skirts when she can, and when she can't she'll wear something more conservative, or what many would call "grandma cloths."

Mien

As with many of her kind, A Wizened Artist her art became apart of her. At first glance she's mistaken for a Manikin, or if only her silhouette is seen, a Beast, but she is neither. She's mostly comprised a fine white china. Her hair, still long is glazed in jade. Dainty china antler-horns poke out from her hair. Unguligrades legs she crafted for herself, now support dainty deer hoofed feet. Her eyes are large, pupiless, and the entirety of the eye black as pitch. She's lean, her limbs are long, her fingers spindly, but carry a certainty and deftness when plying her craft.

Mantle

The scent of plum blossoms swirl around her, as their petals fall in her wake.

Syghimye the Hedge Cat
