Since it's beginning, Edge of Darkenss has grown steadily, adding features, and upgrading software to compensate. The changes in software are commonly known as "TV 1.0", "TV 2.0", and the current iteration.
History
TV 1.0
Twilight Valley began on a free forum provider, ForumArena. From October 2008 to March 2009, it ran until the entire ForumArena server farm had a critical failure, wiping out the provider and all of their databases and forums. Fortunately, the majority of what had been written was captured by a site archiver program, and that mirror is online and available.

TV 2.0
Over the course of a single weekend, a new host was selected and Twilight Valley continued on another free forum provider, ForuMotion. This lasted from March 2009 to June 2009, at which point it was decided to move the forums to a web services host, and invest in more flexible software. The change was mainly based on the desire to have real access to the forum databases, and the ability to back up the forums, as it quickly became apparent that Twilight Valley was growing.

Current
The current 'version' of Edge of Darkness runs on vBulletin, the premiere forum software which allows features that were previously impossible, as well as scaling with Edge of Darkness's growth.

Notes
Edge of Darkness has a yearly maintenance cost of $270, as well as a capital investment of $190 in the vBulletin software. These costs are paid entirely by the admin and owner, West, with contributions from staff and players. There is no 'membership' fee or monthly fee. The contributors are marked in gold on the forum and are called TV Angels.
