As West and Circe head out to the shopping center the conversation turns to life before they any of the Neidan came to Sacramento, and the implications of space magic in the city has put West on edge. Moreover, he suggests that Circe be more apt to scrutinize her husband and others to ensure their safety.

As the outing draws to a close West sends Circe on ahead to meet with Kai and Azrael at Tower Bridge while he goes to investigate another angle. Circe doesn’t wish to go, but does anyways not wanting to argue with West^[1].
