Born to the Iga clan, and trained since childhood in ninjutsu

None were so hated by the Iga then the Kouga, the two were involved in a bitter blood feud. In 1614 to solve a dispute in succession of the Shougunate, each Clan was assigned to each of Tokugawa Ieyasu's grandsons. Prompting miniature war, the winning clan would have the gods favour, the show truly which grandson was also favoured by the gods.

Izayoi lost her duel, she lay dying but was found and Embraced by Mochizuki Chiyome, who would use her to train girls to be kunoichi in the service of the Takeda clan.

This continued on for many years, her sire fearing a supernaturally powerful childe forced her into torpor when her blood would thicken, which would eventually lead to Izayoi's survival and her sire's death. While she lay sleeping, Chiyome and the school were the target of something that slaughtered them all.

Izayoi still hunts the creature that did it, but not avidly. She sees fist to herself, then to the dead.
