Chapter Two

At the dilapidated Chapter House, Hildegarde Bingen and David Regan arrive in the wake of Aileen's funeral to meet with Dog. He tells of the missing Kogaion that he's found but needs help to recover. David tells of his investigation into the Torpid Elder, lay-lines, and the puzzle box. They agree to help each other restore Sacramento's Chapter and what may be required.

Needful Action

David Regan calls a meeting between the remaining Dragons to which Dog and Hildegard Bingen come to answer. He requests the magic iron key that Dog used to track Muir only to find that Dog doesn't have it, but that it led him to the Yolo where he discovered a cult of thirty to fourty people. They decide to investigate, bringing Peter Baldwin and Tracy Burns as backup.

The winter weather has turned the Yolo into a marsh. Through the fog, rain and darkness they discover the commune tents and twenty Kine constructing a wall of brambles. Creeping closer they find an entrance into a bunker leading underground. After some deliberation they head inside, leaving Hildegarde behind.

Quest for the Kogaion

Following the sound of a distant voice, David, Peter, Dog, and Tracy come to an ajar door. Behind which they find an angry cursing Roxie Hart highlighted in glow sticks. She's affixed in cement to the wall save for her head and two arms. She tells them of her captors, Muir's death by Diablerie, and Brady's involvement in her and Muir's kidnapping.

The Hive begins to stir as they hear movement within the bunker. Dog begins to claw at Roxie's restraints as the others retreat back to the open air. The smell of flammables meet their senses and a barrier of branches that fill the exit. Peter attempts to force his way through while Tracy searches for another exit.

Few Return

Investigating the activity of the workers outside, Hildegarde sees them carrying a section of the wall towards the bunker entrance. Along with them a long-haired woman with a bow across her back. Creeping closer she finds they now roll several barrels with a stylized seashell marking. But her movement betrays her presence as a worker spies her. Hildegarde retreats circling around just in time to see the contents of the barrel be poured down the bunker stairs.

Drones and Dragons

Forcing his way through the barrier, Peter, impaling himself with several branches in the process. A fight ensues with Jacqui and her thralls. Peter falls Torpid under the rain of arrows from Jacqui while the swarm of hawks that is Tracy bears down on the Shadow just as an explosion goes off from the bunker. Disoriented and down one ally they are forced to wait as their vision returns. When it does, Jacqui is no longer anywhere to be seen and self-preservation pressures them all to make their way out of the wilderness, leaving Roxie, Dog, and Peter to their fates.

Ill Tidings
