THE PAST

Hildegarde remembers the castle and the Count. There was the long roll of years under the watchful tutelage of Count Leopold, assisting his studies, ornamenting his soirees, soothing his bouts of despondent melancholia and offering him the distractions of companionship. There was the rambling, ruined castle with its damps and fetid airs, its little library packed to bursting, vacant halls and chambers seeped in fading, decayed, glory. There was the forest beyond the castle walls and the little villages with their rustic charms. That is all.

THE PRESENT

Yet for all Hildegarde's efforts, the Count, her sire and mentor, faded away. With each passing decade the time he spent locked away in the parlour, brooding into the flames of an open fire, grew longer and more pronounced. Sometimes he would forget the roll of years and dress as a gallant gentleman from the previous century; other times he would gird himself in the white coat and great bircorne hat of a Prussian Aide=de=Camp from the Napoleonic Wars and stalk the castle like a guardian wraith. One night, he simply refused to rise at all and resisted all her efforts to shake him from the death-sleep.

Hildegarde rested for a while at the Count's tomb, whispering to him. He whispered back in a voice she did not hear.

Then she arose one night to find herself in a new continent and with a bright, vibrant, city at her door - Sacramento. After a long period of prevarication, she has become more politically active within the Order and the wider Domain. Offering her support to David Regan, she has become Castellan to his Grand Wyrm in a shaken out, more active Ordo power structure. At the same time, she was elevated to the Sable and became Sworn of the Mysteries. She also busied herself among her wider peers, obtaining for herself the coveted roll of Clan Whip after several lacklustre and unsuccessful bids for to claim Priscus.

Hildegarde quietly slipped away from the Domain, pursuing the Mysteries with the Order.

The Public Eye

Hildegarde isn't yet as well known as Asa but she's beginning to make efforts to reach out into the realm of Mortals.
