Overview
Responding to the sounds of a crash and shattered glass, Thomas Galilei and Rina Yui come upon a dead body at the base of an apartment complex, beneath a broken window. On investigating the apartment, the two find a Hooded Thief and The Other, searching the apartment. A conflict ensues, after which the parties separate and leave the premises, as the police are about to arrive. Invisible Hands: Rent Veils
Timeline of Events
- Rina Yui, who had been walking the streets, hunting and gathering information, hears glass shattering, followed by a meaty impact nearby, and rushes to the source.
- Thomas Galilei, who had been venting his frustration to God in prayer, hears and responds to the same.
- The two meet over a dead body at the bottom of an apartment complex, beneath a broken window. They wrestle down their Beasts, after which Thomas says a prayer over the body and then searches it, recovering a wallet with identification: Ezekiel Smith.
- Thomas leads the charge up the stairs; Rina follows, close behind.
- Inside, the two see a second dead body, sprawled over a sofa, and a Hooded Thief trashing the place in search of something.
- Thomas and Rina successfully sneak up to the Hooded Thief, undetected.
- Thomas seizes a lamp, preparing to ambush the Hooded Thief.

Combat Log
- Thomas smashes the lamp over the Hooded Thief's head. (Surprise; 1L)
- Knife drawn, Rina moves off, after a second sound in the apartment.
- Thomas attempt to Command the Hooded Thief: "Surrender." (Domination; unintended effect)
- The Hooded Thief Gains her feet, beginning transformation into a snake. She asks, "Where did you hide it?"
- Rina sneaks into another room down the hall, comes upon The Other, unaware. She ambushes him, stabbing him in the stomach. (Surprise; 1L)
- Thomas lands a successful uppercut against the Hooded Thief. (2B)
- The Other, impervious to Rina's knife turns and strikes her, asking "So you have allies, Malachi?" (4B)
- The Hooded Thief assaults Thomas with a flurry of blows. (All-Out; 2B)
- Rina strikes The Other again with her knife. (1L)
- Thomas arms himself with a side table, and swings it at the defenseless Hooded Thief. (All-Out; failure)
- The Other continues his assault on Rina, still unphased by the knife. (3B)
- The Hooded Thief capitalizes on Thomas exposed state. (2B)
- Rina slashes, now in self-defense, hitting The Other twice. (2L)
- Thomas Mesmerizes the Hooded Thief, instructing her to cease fighting, remain where she is, and to answer all his questions upon his return. (Domination)
- The Other unleashes upon a cornered Rina. (6B)
- The Hooded Thief remains still. (Dominated)
- Using Celerity, Rina escapes The Other, navigating her way back into the room with Thomas.
- Thomas moves in search of Rina.
- The Other moves in pursuit of Rina.
- The Hooded Thief remains still. (Dominated)
- Thomas and Rina confer quickly until The Other becomes visible in the doorway.
- Rina adopts a defensive posture, nursing her wounds. (Dodge)
- Thomas Command's The Other: "Flee." (Domination)
- The Other says, "Impressive," before fleeing back down the hall. (Dominated)
- The Hooded Thief remains still. (Dominated)
- Rina stands, confused.
- Thomas asks the Hooded Thief: "Who are you two, and what were you doing here?" and "What were the names and roles of the people killed here?"
- The Other continues to flee. (Dominated)
- The Hooded Thief responds: "I am Rameses, Warden of the Door Beyond Death, Honoured Servant Called Forth From Darkness... he is the One Who Called Me Forth. I am bound to him..." and "Enemies of the One Who Called Me Forth."
- Rina remains with Thomas.
- Thomas asks the Hooded Thief: "What were you two looking for here?" and "How were they Enemies of the One Who Called You Forth?"
- A window shatters, out of sight; presumably The Other left through it.
- The Hooded Thief responds: "The Seal! The Seal! They have made the Seal!" and "I know not. The One Who Summoned Me From Darkness keeps his own counsel."
- Rina and Thomas escape the way they came.
