Dirge

History

Pre-Embrace

Dirge grew up in San Francisco and in began involvement with drama and singing since primary school. This continued into junior high and High school where she got involved in classical singing and Opera, singing soprano. She became a huge fan of the Opera and decided she wanted to be involved in it. She also found herself an active participant in local Renaissance fairs and a local chapter of the SCA as it gave her further opportunities to act parts. She also participated in the light weapons (rapiers) events there and became quite skilled. After high school she attended a state college and majored in theater and music and took Italian. She performed with her universities productions and eventually got involved with a local opera company. After graduating she was hired full time by the company and became a performer and worked consulting and choreography for the fighting scenes, which left her little free time for anything else.

Embrace

She drew the attention of her sire who was a fan of the opera as well and he stalked her as a potential Childe. She was seduced by her sire’s beautiful song and carried without resistance into his underground haven where she was embraced. She finished honing her fighting abilities there with her sire and the local brood of Morlocks. The brood made a practice of abducting people and keeping them imprisoned as a convenient feeding source. With little contact to the above world she began to see people as tools at best or feeding stock at worst. When her sire felt she was ready they pushed for her to truly join with them and take the blood. She resisted at first not wishing to lose her eyesight, but they wore her down. Locked her way for day on end in complete darkness and began to ostracize her when she was free. The pressure to conform was too great and she chose to accept her sire’s blood out of social pressure and religious reasons. With her involvement in the Circle of the Crone her acceptance of this was seen as a spiritual undertaking to better hone herself through trial and further difficulty. She spent several years as a lurker in the shadows of the cities underground until it was decided that there were to many of them to comfortably support. It was decided that Dirge and several others would seek out new cities and gain a foothold there.
