A newly created vampire. This term (hardly a title, really) generally applies to any vampire whose requiem has lasted less than 50 years.
From the moment they awake from their Embrace a vampire has a lot to learn. If a vampire has a proper Sire they will spend a few years or even a decade or so, learning the ins and outs of kindred society as the acknowledged Childe of their sire and under her tutelage. After that, they are on their own, their actions subject to reward or punishment (or indifference) as determined by their elders. It is in this heady time of new and amazing powers as well as the chilling realization of the dark and horrifying nature of their undead existence that many vampires over reach, flame out or go mad. No one knows the exact percentage, but a good many neonates never make it past their first fifty years. Doing so is the first sign that they are capable of being taken seriously in the ongoing Danse Macabre.
