Knowing Ashley’s past is like looking through a smoldered, cracked glass. Believed to be the child of the famous Venture, Belle Cohen, who teaches the art of the Sanquine Voice, many speculations arise when it comes to Ashley.

Ashley's first appearance is during the 1940s when she began attending court with Belle. Many students recall seeing her briefly from time to time, but none have ever came forward and spoke of her assisting in teaching the sanquine voice with Belle. Ashley was often seen among Carthians out in town, when she was seen at all.

Ashley seems to be somewhat of a paradox, as she tends to dress in ways that make her stand out and are rememberable, yet she has not seemed to have much interaction within the damned society, or whatever she works on is far to subtle or insignificant for notice. There have been a few occassions that have sent ripples through the cacophony.

In 1972 a fairly respected Daeva tried to expand her power at Ashley's cost. What exactly the Daeva attempted to do or what Ashley did in return is unknown, but nearly a week later the Daeva willingly met the sun. Many think that Belle had a hand in protecting her child, but the truth will never come to light.

In the 2007 she made waves through the cacophony by appearing alone in New York, and becoming a more active member of the Carthian Movement. Many thought Belle Cohen and her had a falling out, while others wondered if it was due to something else. Since that time, she has seemed to live a semi-nomadic life, traveling from city to city with stunning frequency, yet never leaving under negative…or positive circumstances.

Whereever she goes, people who know of Belle Cohen tend to be a bit guarded. Firstly, for as much time she has spent with the Dominatrix, she is probably far from a pushover. Secondly, she is probably fairly versed in the Sanguine Voice. And thirdly, there are just too many questions around her masking the truth.

The Carthian Movement

Ashley has been behind the scenes within the Carthian Movement for a long time. She often met for discussions, but also had a great hand in writing speeches as well as offering advice. In 2007 she became a lot more forefront with her efforts and moved about with a greater frequency assisting the Movement in various domains. It was not until recently that she heard about the state of the Movement within Sacramento, and decided that she would see what change she could bring to strengthen it.
