Zero Protocol
Introduction
Amongst the online population of California, there exists an urban legend, which has gathered a small community spread throughout blogs, newsgroups, forums and websites. Newspaper articles from a Journalist named Gerald Fitch, working for the Sacramento Bee and amongst the myth-hunters known as "Hub-0", have indicated, that based on the last works of Alan Turing, computer pioneer and rather tragic hero of the British Empire, this urban legend may actually be an attempt to digitalize the mind or generate the first real AI.
Speculations are running high and the community grows.
Zero NET - The Host Cell
What is the myth? The curious following gossip, rumors and their own battle against online boredom have taken to a website "zero.net", where anyone can register with an online handle and an email address. Upon registration, an Email is received with the following contents:
- A new email account on the zero.net server
- A short text:
179.555.29.82
The patient may walk under free skies for fifteen minutes a day. The lawyer is allowed one visit.
Newbies to this either find out on their own, what this actually means or give up, never actually solving this puzzle. The community apparently does not help anyone (even though exception are known of course, but this is really frowned upon). The administrators of the zero.net server only known as "Stack-0", "Splitter-1" and "Switch-1" are running things tightly and no one has any idea, who those people actually are.
