Man In Black
From Edge of Darkness Wiki
703 Sutter St, Folsom, CA 95630
Rumor has it that it began with a round of handshakes and gentlemen's agreements during Prohibition. Whatever it's origin, or original name, beneath the Folsom Hotel and behind a heavy steel door lies the location simply called the 'Man in Black'.
It might be a tribute to Johnny Cash's performance at the Folsom State Penitentiary, whose long shadow begins a stone's throw away. Or it might be a reference to the anonymous identities of those looking to get jobs done.
Of all it's mysteries, some things are unforgivingly known:
- There will be no violence in, or around, the premises. Bartering, bargaining, extortion, and threats are all fair game -- but the restitution shall be made elsewhere. Violating this First Rule will result in immediate and total ostracization, or worse.
- It's a who's who of the underworld's upper echelon, and their guests (single guest per member). Entry is carefully screened and vetted (see below).
- Said membership's preferred currency is power and influence. Within these walls, money is all but meaningless.
