Going with the armor theme another thought came to me. Modification to armor has does and don'ts. Don't even try to do it by mundane means as there is no RAW for improving ratings. Except for magic item merits. Don't layer except for the under clothes bulletproof. RAW layering armor is allowed but you get the better rating of the two against attacks. IIRC the penalties (reduce speed and defense) do stack, with possible increases at Story Teller discretion for flavor.

My interpretation pretty much agrees with yours.
Need an armor (let's say size 4) providing 3 armor (so like steel), you'd need 10 successes, unless merits or hedgecrafting stuff are involved.
For special bonuses or higher equipment modifiers, like for example decreasing the weight/making it thinner or more protection, I'd assume you'd have to take dice penalties on the crafting roll in order to achieve higher quality or an exceptional success.
It's really a system that favors the use of crafting merits/contracts (as it should) and incentives cooperation either in the form of teamwork or by having people with the adequate contracts/blessings/buffs support you.
Also, improving something that already exists probably follows the rules of jury rigging? In that case, crafting a basic item and then improving it a later time is the more optimal solution (since dice pools are capped)

Also, the scripting can be very frustrating at times. Be patient. Some (very few) of the directions on the wiki page are not exactly correct or are difficult to follow but if you fiddle with the problem long enough you'll find resolution (one way or another).

Let us know where you find problems and we'll try to get them fixed. Better yet? Propose the fixes yourself for review to replace/edit.

Well it says to ask questions so ... Is there any rules on how Legacy Oblations in mage effect the mana pool? I'm sorry if its obvious and I've missed it. (I've read how to calc mana and how the house rules for legacies function)
