This man is a liar. He's a liar and a thief and he has what belongs to Thao. It's as simple as that. In the backseat, reason is screaming for Thao to get in the car and get the hell out of there. Even if the guy is faking it and knows nothing about Kordecki, it's not Thao's problem. The DHS agent only charged Thao with going in and going out and getting information, nothing about grabbing evidence. There's already one dead body in the woods. No one else needs to get hurt.
