O-Yama isn't able to muster the telekinetic strength necessary to make it appear like Bethem is mounting a serious attempt to break his bonds, but he is able to make one of the torpid elder's arms jerk... and that's enough when nerves are on edge.

One of the guys with the flamethrower, noticing Bethem's arm move, says "Fuck, he's trying to get out!" and sprays the elder with the chemical flame. A couple of the others move to stop him, and his spray lasts only an instant, but it's enough. The elder's body goes up in flames instantly, and in moments, there's nothing left of him but dry ash. The stake that had been in his heart continues to burn, as do some of the hoses, wiring and so forth that were attached to or running to and from his body. Bethem himself is no more.

For Obliterating Betham from the face of twilight valley (Even if done indirectly) BloodiedClaws gains the Old Evils Achievement!
