The herd milled about, blissfully unaware of the predator in their midst. At least on a conscious level. Subconsciously they were, subconsciously they reacted. Slick was well-used to the behavior by now. The way they would shy away from her, the wary glances from the corner of their eye. On an instinctual level they certainly recognized her as an alpha predator, among the most dangerous beings to be able to call the material world home. On a "reasonable" level that level of danger was never something they'd attribute to a woman of her size, beauty.
As an Elodoth she'd always found that dichotomy interesting.
The herd both was and wasn't her concern tonight. Of immediate concern was Eric, and the interloper. One a mortal, the other...something else. Of there involvement with the government, with the supernatural. Information that was being stolen, apparently. Something that might be her problem as well as theirs because she didn't know just what it contained, or who it might be spread to if stolen.
After all, the herd must not know.
That was why she'd have gone to the meeting alone if she had to, despite the dangers that doing so would undoubtedly pose. Thankfully she didn't have to, something that certainly put her own lupine instincts at ease. So she waited now, at the appointed meeting place, for Firebringer and Daniel. They might not technically be pack. But for now, for this, they essentially were a temporary one. And that was enough to bring her a measure of peace of mind.
