On the second ring, the call is answered.
There's light 'white' noise, and deep, even breathing. It's easy to picture West jogging.
"Hello?"

She actually sounds surprised that he answered that quickly. Come on. Do it. "I gotta go outta town for a few days." Who wants to tiptoe around the bush?

The white noise from the wind lessened slightly as he slowed to a walk.
"Everything cool?" he asked.
He was really not the sort to just come out and ask if someone was pushing her and Matt around -- first the questions about the river, now this.
Of course, if he did ask, he wasn't sure what he'd do. Going and pulling a Men In Black mindwipe or going all Cleric Preston wasn't exactly keeping the Veil intact. He'd be the first to admit that he didn't give a flying fuck about the Veil when it came to Banishers or Seers... but Emily was a Sleeper.
Or maybe he was over-thinking shit and he was getting dumped.

She says in one big breathe. Ok, that even sounded like bullshit.

"Well, cool. So... where you going? Or are you carrying a locator?"
