Winter was half right, mages not protected under the lex were fair game technically but it came with massive risks that he was spot on with. "Knowing a Nexus is there is good information. It tells us more about the city it's ley lines and of course potentially allies or enemies depending on who has set up there." Two councilors had been involved but both were free council and they have some funny ideas about what is and is not acceptable. "But yes caution keeps us alive." If it had been him marking in on map and then researching the history of the area and plot would have been the first recourse.

Guru is worrying him a little now. "It's not about power Guru its about wisdom. We are wiser when we work in tandem, we catch he others mistakes, we stop each other going over the edge. With what we can do one overly emotional moment, one reckless or poorly thought out action can be dire." Cabals provided that much needed support structure. "And it is safer. Rare is the mage who can do all things needed. When we work together we can create safer places." And finally. "And its good for us. When w have the needs beyond ourselves to consider it helps us remember why we do this, what our purpose is." Because those who just wanted to enforce their paradigm on the fallen world, those who valued power for powers sake had a name and opposed the pentacle at every turn.

The general ignorance of this very crucial part of their society is starting to wear thin on the Moros. Bur he addresses Corn. "If it is a cabal that keeps the lex they can bring charges. But they should also have provided a way to cross their territory per the right of crossing. Did you or anyone spot anything like that?" Time to try and prepare a legal defense just in case. Aurora gets a smile in support of her actions, if he had to guess this was wearing thin of her to.

But a pleasant surprise as Eidolon speaks. "Well said Eidolon." Putting your hands up to admit to fault especially when result differed from intentions took some doing. "Although the Seers, Banishers and the like are not held under the lex's protections." The last thing we want is mages thinking they can't defend themselves. "We still hold to secrecy of course." He didn't know if it was the Obrimos or the Guardian doing the thinking, but there were things they couldn't publicly reveal to the Consilium, this is why - ultimately - it was Power and the Right of Emeritus the deciding factor.
It wasn't lost on the Guardian that to create a cabal you needed at least 2 mages, and with so few Guardians in the Caucus, they were beyond the Lex's aegis.

Guru let out a small sigh in response to Aurora before answer almost robotically, "I know, that is why I had brought up that specific example." And Chamber's party-line platitudes were still not an answer to the question. His face scrunched up and he did his best to swallow his frustration by taking and chewing over a bit of food which seemed to work. "Are we not working together? Is that not why we're all here?" Honest confusion in his voice as he looked around the room for answers he wasn't likely to find. "Another way to look at it is instead of uniting us as a Consilium it's dividing us into cabals when the point is to be wise and work together, no? So is it wiser to work together or not?" He raised an eyebrow and blinked over at Chambers leaving his food untouched waiting to see what the reponse would be in kind. He continued eating as he didn't buy the apology from Eidolon but he didn't really fault the man his curiosity either. But if he hadn't shown up because he'd been fished? He'd feel about the same unfortunately.

Aurora 's exasperation puzzled Corn, as he is not sure what irked her this time. The Lex was far less clear to those, like him, that gave it a 'brief once over' as Aurora put it, than the Factorums like her and Chambers .
Then, Eidolon offers an apology and Corn nods. "Well said, Eidolon. I too will try to exercise more caution in the future when we investigate areas of the city."
He looks at Guru when he says his take on cabals. His eyebrows raise in surprise but he doesn't speak. Let the more versed in the Lex answer that​.

Offering nothing more than a look to Aurora at her open ended question along with a single light nod as she goes to fill up a few plates of various treats ready to force Corn to take them with him as people would begin to splinter of for the evening. Still feeling like she had nothing to say in this matter, enjoying the chance to get to hear little insights and tidbits but opting to firmly stay out of the conversations going around.
