Bai Hu sat on the hood of her car, looking out over the river as she dialed the number of the First Talon. Her brethren in San Francisco had given her a number to call when she hit Sacramento, and at the time it had seemed a simple thing to call and introduce herself, but now she felt nervous. Not afraid, she had been in too many firefights to really feel fear for something like this, but she wasn't exactly comfortable, either. Nevertheless, it had to be done, and on the upside she'd had time to plan out what she wanted to say.
When the phone is answered, Bai begins by saying, "Hello. My name is Bai Hu, and I was calling to see if we could meet and I could properly introduce myself. I'm moving up here from San Francisco, and some mutual friends there gave me your number. They said you were used to dealing with people who've spent time in the military and that you could give some advice for settling down here in Sacramento."
