Frankie Found

Garden Grounds had a sign on the door stating it was closed for the night for inventory. Drapes had been drawn on the windows, though soft tea lights glowed behind them.

Once inside, the other Lost would find it look as it usually did. Though expanded with new seating offerings and a gentler atmosphere. Gone were the smaller tables and chairs, replaced with repurposed tables, bigger, and more rustic looking. The regular chairs were replaced with reupholstered arm chairs, some with arms, some without. There was even some couches now! Perfect for those larger groups or even study groups, arranged comfortably around lower coffee tables, also redone, but still a bit beat up.

The wisteria is still hanging from the ceiling, with fairy lights hidden among the blooms, but there is less. Instead there are exposed beams, lights intertwined.

All in all, it was a more cozy and welcoming space. Some how appearing more spacious without being a larger space, amazing what well placed furniture can do! The patio was closed, still too cold in the owners mind to open for customers.

Sonnie walked in behind Sera and yawned, even as her eyes quickly scanned the room for dangers.

That done, the Beast simply strolled over to one of the couches and flopped onto it, facing up towards the ceiling. After gazing at the wisteria for a moment, she looked over towards the Fairest.

"I feel like a nap. But I suppose you want that explanation first?" she smiled in amusement.

Walking towards the counter, she places her bag behind it and sets to making a fresh pot of coffee. Circe was going to want a cup, or ten, and she just wanted something warm to hold on to.

Calling out to Sonnie, “I have sodas and water if you want. Or even tea.” If the Beast decides she wants something, Sera will get it and walk to the couch with both drinks. A coffee mug left on the counter for Circe when she arrived. A plate of sugar cookies placed on the coffee table.

Sitting in one of the chairs near the couch, sipping the coffee carefully, “I would like one, yes.” Smirking, “Knowing what set you off would be helpful, because if we’re in danger, we need to know and call this off.” Sera would never put her friends in danger for some lost guy they didn’t even know.

Getting her car had been a priority. Scheduling a cab double driver pickup, with tip, was the second priority. Circe wanted sleep.


Circe follows as she is mostly listing and yawning, she had a lot of days. She lets the monkey scan the room, any pause causing her to reach into her jacket for something the others know.


"No," Circe replies to Sonja, "I want coffee. Then explanation. I am all for violence liiiiike," she yawns, "Ya almost kicked off. But having mundies attack minor threats for us without links ta us seems useful." Then she takes a seat by the coffee left out, "Aaaah," and jabs a pointed finger at Sonja, "AND I don't like giving myself more work fer diplomacy sake. Reason do give."


And sips her coffee, "Grazie Sera."​

"Water, pretty please?" she smiled sweetly at Sera.

Still laying on the couch, Sonnie turned her eyes to Circe, "Sorry about that, but I had to be certain of something."

The Beast took a moment to remove her boots, tossing them to the floor before holding her bare feet up in the air and flexing her finger-like toes.

"So, I guess neither of you saw it? In the picture?" Sonnie looked at both of the Fairest in turn to gauge their reactions. "Yes? No? No. Didn't think so. Guess I'm the only one that caught it." She had held her feet together like one would steeple their hands. "In the picture of Matty? In his eyes? There was Glamour."

"And that got me thinking. A rarity, I know. But, did you ever notice that Matty and Colin, they could see us? Like SEE us? The other Hunters? They can't. Just those two, far as I can tell." Her eyebrows knit together, "Why is that? And why did we never question it before? I guess I kinda assumed it was some Hunter trick."

The Claviger sighed and shook her head, "Anyway, I figured if Matty had Glamour in his head, maybe Colin did, too. I had to check. It wasn't easy. I couldn't spot anything with the naked eye, so I had to Ken him. And there it was! Some faint traces, but there was Glamour knocking around in that empty skull of his."

Her feet clapped together in some small applause. "Colin and Matty, I think they were both Ensorcelled. Question is, by who?" Sonnie paused and blinked, "Or is it by whom?"

She continued thinking about that a few more moments, then continued. "Uh, anyway, the Glamour didn't come from Colin, at least. Had to be an outside source. So, those boys may be on some Fae's payroll. One of us, a Gentry, some Hob, maybe? Who knows. Maybe that Dr. Frankenstein we're looking for? Not something the rest of the Union would like the sound of, which is why I didn't wanna say anything in front of them. That would of started a fight for sure."

Smiling to Circe and raising her own glass, “Anytime.” She knew the Summer functioned best when caffeinated.

The water was provided as requested.

Certain of something? As Sonnie begins to explain, Sera finds herself sitting up straighter.

Shaking her head, “Just the fang, nothing else.” Confirming she didn’t see anything.

Raising the mug for a sip, it stops mid-way up, eyes wide. “Wait, what?!” there was Glamour?! “I suppose we were too focused on helping them and figuring out what the creature was.” Best she can tell.

“My question is, why. Whoever is providing the Glamour is getting something out of it. But what?” well this quickly took a turn.

“What do we want to do about it? Turn our investigation focus to Colin and Matty? Or are we walking into a trap?” were they the targets?

Circe lets the scent of coffee calm her, the warmth flow, as she sighs. Though her ears don't relax, she has one facing Sonja upturned to hear. Caught something? The vampire fang? Not the Lost problem, so long as they Harvested subtly.


Glamour? That causes Circe to freeze at the explanation. Well, shit. Someone had Ensorcelled them? Well, shit, that had so many threat possibilities. Siccing the mundies on their foes, why wouldn't someone else do the same? "Stronzate!" she curses, as she too is worried on the mundies having Glamour.


The Summer Mantle was on full blast. Circe sipped the coffee, trying to calm down and think! Think. Positive option? Ann plan that they fucked? Oh, that was positive.


"Best case scenario, Ann was setting them against us but that bitch is," she slices her hand across her neck, "So threat gone. Or they ate something." Worst case scenario was the idiots bargained with a Keeper. That was obvious. "Though I can expect what ya'd get outta the Hoodies with giving Glamour." She looks to Seraphina, "Kinda what I was hoping for if we became their armourers and gun suppliers," Circe almost said one phrase before switching to another, "Pat. Proxies. Someone ta send at our foes so we don't hafta. Slay my foes and I give you the power to slay yours," she puts on an imperious tone.


Circe lets out a long sigh. It was very good that Sonja noticed this. Smart lil' monkey. Inconvenient, but that was truth for you.


"We may have been the target," Circe thinks back, "When we first ran inta them. But diplomacy," she sips her coffee, "Ruined that. Maybe it made Frank want them eyes, and, uh, ummm. Beh, cazzo di merda non lo so!" She looks to Sonja, "Are there any Beast contracts ya got that'd let ya track the Glamour back ta the source? Because we just don't know enough."

Sonnie watched the reactions of the two Monarchs with some vague amusement, particularly Circe going full Wrath Queen. That was another reason she didn't say anything ate the pub. A pissed off Iron Spear was not going to keep things peaceful.

Still on the couch with her feet in the air (they were now idly pedaling like she was on a bike), the Beast made a shrugging gesture with her hands. "Well, Sera, it's not the first time we've encountered a fae person stitching body parts together," she said, referencing their new Darkling friend they'd met last Halloween July(?). "We probably should've guessed. Though I doubt it's her."

She listened to Circe's rant and rave through the possibilities, now with her monkey feet twiddling their toes together. "What, like smelling Glamour? No, nothing like that. Least no Contract I ever heard of. We all just got the Kenning for that, I think, and it ain't easy."

Sonnie sat up, finally, to drink the water Sera was so nice to give to her, "We could try what I suggested at the pub. Stake out the storage place and see who leaves in a fluster."
