Reporting for duty

The Circle of Creation. On the short list of places Henry didn't intend to make one of his regular haunts in the city, this one had to be close to the top. But duty had its price.

He makes his way through his Order's HQ (oh, how he hated that expression), looking for all the world like a young upcoming lawyer. Cleanly shaven, clean black and white suit, blue tie, his hair and nails groomed impecabbly, the smell around him not entirely unpleasant, though not entirely remarkable either. A black briefcase with a simple combination lock. As far as possible from the dirty homeless man he had been just two hours ago.

This was no time for idle exploring, however. He actively looks for Zilker, eager to be out again. Here's hoping he doesn't make this difficult, he thinks to himself.

Henry finds Zilker outside, doing katas.

As soon as he sees Zilker, Henry moves to plant himself firmly in the man's line of sight. No way in heck is he waiting on the sidelines through the whole routine. He puts down his briefcase next to him, and makes a show of adjusting his tie while waiting for the Epopt to finish.

Zilkers slows and stops, and looks at Henry. "You want to get some practice and exercise while we talk?"

Henry nods towards the way he came in. "A walk out-", he begins, but then stops. He called this meeting, let him call the shots for once. After a moment's hesitation, he unbuttons his jacket, for freedom of movement. "You know what, exercise sounds just fine."

He pushes his briefcase off to one side, out of the way ((along with his shoes, if Zilker isn't wearing any)), and takes a spot a few feet away from the Epopt, facing the same direction Zilker is. He lets Zilker call whatever kind of training he wants; In Rome, do as the Romans after all.

Zilker lays down in the grass and begins doing the bicycle; crunches with elbows to knees, full leg extensions. "I need you to find someone for me," he says conversationally, breathing smoothly and easily.

Roll STR + STA -or- STA + Athletics

Henry takes a pose similar to Zilker's, apparently not caring about staining the suit, and begins mirroring his movements. But not for long. Around the seven crunches mark, his head simply doesn't rise for number 8, and he rests his feet on the ground, knees pointed up.

Through labored breath and a grunt, he asks, "Who? And why?". Hell, he'd better ask now, or he had a feeling he was never gonna get that answer. He tries again to start the movement, but his muscles have apparently decided that the buck stops here.

"The Curator's assistant, Starling," Zilker clarified. He didn't mention Henry's poor showing, just continued to go through his routine. "He hasn't shown up for a couple of weeks now. No one knows anything -- I've got a small file for you, should be a piece of cake."

Piece of cake. Just like a few reps of bicycle crunches.

Henry keeps going along with Zilker's routine as well as he can. Which, admittedly, isn't very well. He's doubly surprised, however. On the one hand, a disappearing Mage was kind of new. And on the other hand, Zilker has a file?

"The Mysterium aren't looking for him?", he asks. The way it's said could make it pass for a statement instead of a question. A lot more things tumble through his mind, but asking too many questions before even seeing the file was not smart.

Piece of cake. Of course. For the guy handing out the assignment, it always is.

"It's a bit complicated, but the Mysterium is stretched pretty thin right now," Zilker said. He looked over at Henry as he spoke. It wasn't that he was being deceptive, or dodging the question, it just looked like something was happening that he didn't care for, or approve of.

"How's your little... project... going?" he asked. "You're not too busy for this, are you?"

Speaking of things that could pass for a statement instead of a question...
