    It's fucking chaos.

Piercing wails and crying start to mingle with the crooning dirge as those out in the hall begin to be affected. If not for the crushing depression, some might have turned to peer back into the library that's exploded into swarming bodies, rampant spells, and blood.

The old woman sways on her feet, still singing...

...Until the Mustelid finds her mark again. The song is choked and smothered in wet sounds and lips that slowly still while hateful eyes glass over.

    She collapses.

The younger woman has a pained expression, but still moves with singular, efficient purpose. She steps over and picks up the bloody map. She takes another step...

    ...and disappears.

As the song dies, sounds of curiosity in the hall begin...

Fisher watched the old woman fall and the young woman moves up and snatches away the map before Fisher is able to recover and suddenly she disappears.

Darn space users. That's cheating, she thought to herself and sighed. She really wanted that map, It was very important to the seers that was clear.

Then she realized that with the singing over the wave of depression was gone and she found herself wondering just how a song could effect her that way. She looked down at the woman with newfound respect and bent down and placed her left palm over the old woman's eyes.

"I'm sorry ma'am," Fisher said with honest regret in her voice before she slit the woman's throat to end her life and keep her from speaking to anyone before she died. Fisher took the necklace, pocketed it, and cut off a small portion of the woman's dress and wiped the woman's blood onto the cloth from her knives before pocketing the cloth and sheathing her knives. She got up and quickly made her way to the door.

"Let's go. fast!" she said to the others.

Strix wasn't surprised that his attempt to rip the pendant from the woman was a failure, just like anything else seemed to be destined to fail for them. He could already see them returning, nothing but bad ne— suddenly, the song ended, and so did the gloomy thoughts that had clouded his mind only moments before.

He caught the woman leaving, disappearing into thin air and taking the map with them.

A frustrated noise left him, fingers tightening on his blade before he turned his eyes down at the incapacitated woman. Before he could introduce his blade to her, however, Fisher moved first, making him only barely resist stomping like a petulant child, his nerves fringed by the experienced depression caused by the woman.

Well, I'm not sorry, he thought darkly.

The knife vanished inside his jacket again, sheathed and hidden once more. A hand ran over his face, fingers through his hair before he followed behind Fisher.

Still, while he usually was very much someone to not kick those already down, Strix couldn't help himself from giving the woman just that on his way to the door. He cast a glance to where the woman's younger sidekick had vanished, but there was really no time to hang around and scrutinize the area in hopes to learn anything without risking getting caught.

It seems, this was starting to become a running theme on this little adventure: Always short on time.

The song washed over him and within it he felt the weight of Stygia, that place full of loss and change, so full of despair and finality, but he was a creature of that Realm, and he knew its power. With strength of Will he fought the urge to fall into lethargy. For a moment he wondered if he really thought that they would be able to stand against the might of the Seers of the Throne and their masters, those who control the reins of reality. He knew the weight of Stygia was upon him and he knew he was affected by it, but still the thought crept into his mind.

He saw Fisher score another blow with her blades and then the crone succumb to her wounds. Her dirge failing as she slipped into unconciousness. It was a shame the younger woman departed with the map and that was out of their control, but at least Fisher got the necklace, and cleanly dispatched her.

Wayland moved to the old womans side as Strix booted her on the way through, and gave a disapproving grunt. Thats not how you treat the dead yo, enemy or not. "James, I think she died of heart failure, no?" Giving him a balefull stare. There was still a murder victim on this boat, and there would be less questions if she appeared to die of natural causes. Unfortunately, such skills were beyond Wayland's understanding, but perhaps the other Moros had enough skill.

Looking down at the woman, with blood on her wrinkled face, he felt an unexpected sadness. She was old. So few of us die of old age.

Stained glass butterflies surround Tuesday, each pane on their tiny wings glows a verity of iridescent hues, while showing glimpses of what was, what is, and what will be. When vulgar magic is cast, the fluttering cascade doesn't last, they shatter. Falling into dull, colorless dust before vanishing completely.

"Balls." Tuesday says, remembering that they're still in 1912 and she really shouldn't be dropping f-bombs. But the map. The shiny. The loot! Watching the sidekick she glared at disappear made the unicorn wish she knew even a teeny tiny bit of Space.

"Think she's still on the boat. With what's in the...." she trails off, brow arched meaningfully.

Watching Fisher slice the women's throat put a grim line on Tuesday's face. Which stayed as the Arrow snatched the heart of the ocean and wiped her blades clean.

"Fast. Yeah." a nod, as the women made to follow Fisher.

Hearing Wayland she stops, "Where's the younger women? Her companion...surely she hadn't done such a terrible thing in the commotion..." that's right Tuesday would blame the bitch that got away.

After saying that as innocently as she could she turned to follow Fisher out.

When a thought occurred to her.

    Hench brutes.

    "Fuck a duck."
