Continued from [Crocodile Tears] Saving Priscus Hazelton

The time is 2:15am.

Into the heart of South Sacramento's Rack went the Knights, their two automobiles following one another reasonably closely. Sir Baldwin had provided Lady Saito with the address, and the oathsworn swords of the First Estate met up nearby. The Knight discarded most of his disguise into the backseat, leaving the makeup on his face to protect him from general observers while changing up his attire into a pair of jeans, a black t-shirt and a leather jacket. Beneath it all was his thin kevlar vest and his Bowie knife.

After all, this could easily be a trap. And as hungry as he was? Yeah. Every bit of caution was in order. He could nip out for a late-night bite after Hazelton was secure.

"I have the keys here. Are you ready?" Baldwin asked Saito quietly, having joined her in her vehicle parked about half a block away. His car was parked quite close by, too - all the better for bringing it up and getting this done.

Baldy doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary from where he's at now

Yuki sat in truck on the residential street that was positioned near the house but not right in front of it. She scanned the area and looked to the house to see any signs that it was currently occupied or if there was anything suspicious of note. When Baldwin joined her she nodded.

"I'm ready, how you wanna do this? One take front and one take back or both together?"

Baldwin thought for a long moment before replying with a single, certain nod. "Together. I'm not hurt, but I am very hungry. We can handle any problems that may arise faster that way. Either this is going to be clear, or this is going to be a trap. If it's clear, us separating makes little sense. If it is a trap, then we are better off handling it as a unit."

Sitting in the dark, on the street, all is quiet. Their entourage that they had picked up on entering the Rack let them leave Trax without incident, and it's a typical night in the suburbs... at 2am.

Somewhere, a dog barks.

Street lights create pools of light, revealing tidy, if unremarkable, yards.

Down the block, lights swing onto the street, and a small car begins moving towards them. If Yuki had ever seen Jennifer's car, she would have recognized it. If Baldwin wasn't discarding his disguise, he might have.

But neither did.

"Very well together it is then," she said understanding the man's logic.

She looked to Sir Baldwin to determine if he was ready and done shedding his disguise. Then when she was satisfied she opened the vehicle door and spoke while stepping out.

"So this man is meeting us here or is he dropping off our friend? What are we looking for to see if he is here still?"

"Dropping her off. One sec. Car," he said quietly, not recognizing the vehicle as he focused the Blood to conceal the bulletproof vest beneath his jacket and the knife. The knife? No problem. The vest? That didn't happen. He needed to train that particular Gift of the Blood more, he realized. As he turned his and the chef's cell phones to silent while staying in his seat, the Knight described him. "He may still be here, or could be just leaving. We weren't that far ahead of him. He was a Caucasian guy, wearing a cap and flannel. Twenties, kind of looked like he'd had the chicken pox. He was hurt pretty bad. I broke his nose, I think. He took Hazelton's vehicle, which'll be what we're looking for. He looks like..."

He went on to briefly describe Jennifer's vehicle's make, model, colour, and anything that stood out about it. It was familiar to him; after all, he'd seen it a few times, particularly earlier when they were loading it with the computer and J-Haze and whatnot.

But Seryna hasn't described her car anywhere I can find...

Touch of Shadow on the knife, 2 sux

Yuki listened intently as he gave the descriptions and the man made his preparations. It was an odd sensation the knife just kind of went away and she was no longer able to recall what had happened to it or anything. Standing beside the vehicle with the door still open she looked down to the haunt.

"Is it anything like that vehicle coming down the street toward us?" she asked calmly and inquisitively.

"I'm not sure," he said with a shrug, chilling in his seat and looking down at his phone for a moment. "All I can see are its headlights. Let it go by, then we'll go. If you see the guy around, make him your new best friend, if you can."

Daeva were useful like that.

Yuki shrugged unable to recall what the car looked like herself. The comment about making the man their friend went unanswered as it went without saying. She waited as indicated for the car to go by if it chose to.
