Exploring the Town

Hailey spins around at the sound of a familiar voice and giggles slightly, "more like right on time!" She whips back around skips over to join the herd of people standing in line like cows at the food trough. "So, what have you been up to? Any clients when huge million dollar settlements or any bad guys go away for life or anything?" She obviously didn't get the whole lawyer thing very much but she was showing interest best she knew how. Besides, its better than talking about that creepy old woman and her book of tricks. Still, after a little coffee and donuts it was time to crack that thing open. She planned it all out as she was scanning the menu. When its there turn to order she gets a caramel latte and a bear claw then follows Tom to whichever table he chooses.

"No, nothing like that lately." Tom chuckled. Did she even know what kind of law he did? "I'm actually just working on litigating a corporate merger. It's a bunch of finances, meetings with management and accountants, and so on. Really boring stuff."

When the waitress came, Tom placed his order after waiting for Hailey to place hers. Ladies first was always polite, after all. The waitress seemed to not want to be here, her fake smile told Tom that much, but then again -- who'd want to be a minimum wage tip-jockey?

"So, what have you been up to?"

Athenna gets a look from Jer'miah and he waves her over with a big smile. "Honey, you need a seat? C'mon over he'ah and sit with Jer'miah." He says, motioning to his table.

He waits for Athenna to take a seat and smiles at the woman, "So you new to town? I don' think I know ya face darlin'."

Before Athenna has a chance to answer, Jeremy interrupts. Jer'miah looks at him and a smile comes to his face. "Oh honey with hair like that, you don' even needa ask." He says, biting his bottom lip as he looks the man over and winks at Athenna.

Hailey takes her food and as she's looking around for a booth to sit down at she answers Tom's question, "well, I just went to this really crazy bookstore..."

Hailey spots the commotion going on over at Jer'miah's table and notes that the big benches have enough for six. this guy's gonna have to share!

The scantily dressed twenty something approaches the table with a bouncy giddiness to her high-heel boot clad step. "Hey, I'm Hailey this is Tom we need a place to sit. Think you could scooch over and make some room for us? This place is packed!"

"Bon temps baby, more the merrier I've always said." Jer'miah says with a big smile as he scoots over and makes room for whever wants to sit on his side of the booth.

"Names Jer'miah Beaufont, pleasure." He says, nodding to them as he takes a sip from his coffee.

Hailey plops down next to Jer'miah and Athenna. She starts in on her bear claw with none of the self conscious fear that her table mate was feeling; Hailey wasn't judgmental either - just bubbly, "oo Athenna almost like the goddess! Don't mind me I study stuff like that." The girl giggles a bit, her sweet treat already devoured by this point.

"Did you say law school? That's great! Tom here was just trying to make me get the whole law deal but it fails on me. Maybe you guys could team up and send that BP ass-hole that keeps saying he takes full responsibility but at the same time its not his fault back the legal stone-age. That's a big smelly pile of bullshit if you ask me, looks like one to; have you seen that stuff? Then again, like I said, politics are not my forte - maybe he's doing whatever he can."

Hailey seems to be the type that gets on distracted, multi-topic, rants and now the sugar high was meeting up with the latte buzz making the disorder a few degrees worse; perfect time to throw some nicotine in the mix - too bad she was out of cigarettes. She looks at Jer'miah with an apologetic look when she realizes the subject of her rant may have been more painful for certain guests. She considered telling him that she had prayed for the ocean and its creatures to the goddess when she heard the news but somehow manages to contain her desire to speak more. Jer'miah was cute as hell, she'd hate to have upset him.
