Jack frowns, then leans back so that his whispers will easily be heard by his fellow Mystagogue and only him, "Sorry, man, only an Initiate in it..." Then, he answers Orphan's question just as quietly, "They should be around the bases and tops of the towers."

He looks over at the kids and ducks, and shakes his head just slightly before going back to observing the Bridge.

I guess this is whatcha get when ya buy cheap tickets and don't specify the military amphibious vehicles called ducks instead of the animal...

Unless Jack can make more PER attempts, I guess he'll just be lying in wait until he can estimate they're within 200m of the Bridge so they can start scrutinizing.

Orphan nods to Jack, then lifts his binoculars and sets about trying to see something. Noticing how dark it is, he reluctantly discontinues his Mental Shield then attempts to turn probability in his favor, so he squints just so at just the right time so as to get the maximum possible chance of seeing the phenomenon in question. After a few seconds trying to get the right angle... and gets nothing for his effort.

    Bridge? What bridge?

Standing near Jack and Jordan, he says, quietly, "You notice the boat pilot became a lot less hostile? I slipped him a $20. I get the feeling maybe he might be open to some changes in course if we make it worth his while."

The boat lurches and makes a deep groaning noise.

Icy water sting toes and foot soles as a weave settles around the vessel and metal begins rapidly disintegrating in flakes of brittle, decomposed metal.

The children squeal and start jumping; the pilot looks surprised at the noise, but is wearing galoshes, and only begins to look wildly around as the ship begins listing.

"Jack, we've put these people in peril!" Orphan hisses. "We need to get them to safety."
    commanding!

Orphan draws upon what he's learned about leadership and persuasion and attempts to calm the kids, wanting to prevent a panic. Calling out in a calming yet commanding voice he says "Kids, stay calm. We will have to work together to get everyone to safety."

Glad that Orphan was taking care of the social aspects of the situation, Jack nods and looks around for life vests, life preservers, or anything buoyant that should be on a boat for safety precautions.

If only we had a Moros on our side... Jack thinks. Little does he know that the call he let go to his voice mail might have been just that answer.

A loud groan and cracking sound shakes the craft, and suddenly the water is knee-high and rising. It's cold, really cold, and some of the smaller children are up to their hips and chests, pushing to stand on seats, looking to Orphan to see what to do.

As a matter of fact, so is the pilot, and the gruff indifference of a seasoned professional is replaced by near panic.

Jack sees rows of dirty, O-shaped preserver rings on each side of the sinking ship.

Noticing Jack's gaze, Orphan nods. Looking at the kid and the pilot, he says, calmly, "Alright, we're all going over to the life preservers, calmly. We're going to help each other get there." Orphan goes to two of the smaller kids and lifts them up as he moves toward the life perservers. "Bigger kids, help the smaller ones. Let's work together. Jordan and Jack and me are going to help you. Our captain can help too." He looks at the boat pilot, hoping giving him a task will help snap him out of his current near-panic and into what is presumably a practiced routine for someone with his job.
