Finding a comfortable seat in a cafe Langdon sits down places a call to the local contact Campanella he was given. A cup of black coffee gently steams as the phone starts to ring.
*Ring ring*
Campanella is at home, sitting down with a plate of spaghetti bolognese. Fortuitously, his phone is close at hand.
"Yes?"
His response is calm, perhaps a little sharp, at the unexpected call.
"Hi..ah..Hello. I just arrived in town and my friends back home said that you were a local book dealer. My friends said that it would be best to call you instead of winging it and trying to find it on my own."
"Your friends were very astute. I take it they were librarians themselves?"
Campanella paused.
"Have you heard of Granite Park? There is a spot marked by a large boulder close by the lake there. It has a wonderful aspect. Quiet spot. I doubt we would be disturbed."
"Of a sort yes." How to describe that over the phone, Langdon is not sure.
"I should be able to find it. As long there aren't multiple Grant Park's..some cities are odd like that. Anyway, boulder by a lake, when should I be there?"
"How about <<date and time>>. Would that be suitable?"
Campanella transfert the phone to his other hand and he attempted to dig into his meal.
I'll try and get the scene up and running in a day or so Kelreth
"Yes, thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I look forward to speaking with you then." Unless Campanella has more to say Langdon will hang up and return to his coffee.
Sounds good!
