Eternal Consilium III

[Pepper]

Pepper shoved her blazer's sleeves up to her elbows then shoved her hands into her pockets. It wasn't a dress, but between the zipper, khakis, and the pushed-up sleeves, it carried a more casual air than typical of the sharply dressed Acanthus. As she walked into the gallery were the meeting was, she took off her aviators and tucked them safely into an inner breat pocket and looked around at who was where.

Not too many, yet. She noted Miach, Einstein, the Veiled Threats (Down to three with Zodiac getting hitched), Tyria and Faye and Striker...

Pepper gave a nod to Tyria, a firm one that said she recognized who hosted the evening, then headed for Miach and the group he was with. "Miach. Veiled Threats. Einstein, right?" A quick greeting, and she gave the appropriately polite smile with it. How's everyone been since January?"

[Miach]

Greeting the members of the Veiled Threats was like making a list of things half-done, giving Miach a feeling of unfinished, badly done business. Preparing to help the Arrows with Asp - check. Investigating GLO with Star - check. Cleaning off sympathetic ties with Avis - check... Still, it only meant that the Acanthus would have to be more involved if he wanted things to move on. "Hello, how are you ?." he asked each in turn, honest care in the voice. Those were all people he was trying to help, no matter how poorly executed it was...

When Einstein asked him specifically about Cabals, he looked around. Noone else around that could be involved... "Not quite yet, though we're talking with a couple of like-minded people... so, perhaps soon." he admitted, shaking his head.

As Fate would have it, it was at that time that a potential member of his future Cabal showed up, accompanied by another member of his Path. And then Pepper. It seemed Faye and Striker paused before joining them, so he only greeted his Councilor. "Glad you came." and left the field to the others.

[Aurora]

Her eyes look where Striker waves and she realizes why he wanted to stick with her. A smile and wave were offered to Pepper and Miach.

She looks back to Striker and smiles, “Probably not a good place to start.” She says softly. “Wanna see what they have to drink and see if any new faces or friendly ones show up?” she asks. Thinking it would be good to move away from Avis and her crew. Last thing she wanted was there to be a scene or any problems.

[Avis]

"Breathing," Avis replied to Pepper, the satisfied tone indicating that Warlock associated the act with far more than just autonomous bodily function. Her eyes flicked between clustered faces around her, flicked to Star and Asp, and then landed, like Miach's, on the Acanthus Councilor.

"Hey, uh, Peps, I don't mean to interrupt you if you have business with Miach, but do you have some time to talk?" Hands slipped free from her pockets and found their way nesting beneath crossed arms.

[Teeramus]

"Sounds good." Striker replied. "That bloke. Um. Mike? Miach. He's been around for awhile but I don't really know him, or the Sheila he's takin' too." he added, nodding to where Miach was talking to Einstein.

Then Miach greeted Pepper and Avis did too. That conversation suddenly became less appealing. Maybe talkin' to Star would be more fun. Or maybe I should just go get that drink. He thought to himself.

"Drinks it is though." he said and began moving towards what looked like the beverages.

[Star]

Make words, yo.

Like, seriously. This is obviously Serious Business. Not The Business.

"Oh, well. Uh. I got free tickets to the Marvel Movie Marathon." Yep, that's something to smile about. Not really. "The Century 16, you know that one, that one on Garfield, anyway, like, the Sac Bee thinks there's gonna be a monster line for the new one. Anyway, so, Entertainmnt section wanted a pic, and I told them I couldn't, like, loiter. Anyway. So."

Give Asp the pearly whites. There? Happy? Ignore the sliver of wood between them.

"Sup. Einstein. Uh. Councilor. Councilor Einstein, how do you do. Oh, hey, and Miach, speaking of finding things, there's another, like, angle on that GLO stuff. Just giving you the heads up, but, yeah, so, like, I'm gonna chase that one." Because different people have different ideas of what 'chase' means.

Another tiny wave was offered to Pepper. No need to interrupt.

Because Acanthus.

Also? Dollar gets a dime there wasn't anything to eat or drink. File under Leave Early.

[Pepper]

"It's been going well enough." Pepper responded to Miach, though there was a briefly flash of her brows drawing in before she turned to Avis. She shouldn't have hoped he'd used her new title, but there was a fair chance people knew anyway.

Still, Avis, right. "No business, just trying to be polite." Pepper indicates with her hand that she can step away now - though she over hears what Star said about the Century 16 marvel marathon and makes a mental note to get a ticket for herself. "What would you like to talk about?"

[Truce]

Having driven, Truce parks his car in the main lot and heads inside, dressed in his usual sports coat and buttoned-up shirt ensemble. He enters the Museum's private gathering space, expressing his greetings to Gina as she moves about the room. Catching sight of Pepper he nods her way should their eyes meet but makes no movement to suggest interrupting their conversation.

At the sight of Einstein , Truce waves pleasantly, acknowledging the presence of his Cabalmate. For now, however, he stands off to the side, waiting for an opportunity to speak with either Pepper or the Sentinel when she appears to be free.

[Aurora]

She nods her head, “Miach seems like a good guy. Only talked with him a couple times though.” Her eyes look to who he was talking to, “Hmm, never seen her. Then again, sounds like a lot went down when I left. So I’m not surprised to see new faces.”

Her eyes see Truce enter, “Looks like another new face. Given this has been my longest stay within a city, is it usual for there to be a lot of new Awakened showing up?” she asks, curious.

[Avis]

"Let's, uh, talk over there," Avis suggested, nodding her head towards a far wall. Not that they had to walk the entire way over there, but at least it would give them some space. The random conversation from four, or however many extra people, right next to them really crowded the auditory environment and made it hard to concentrate. Honestly, it made her feel claustrophobic. Like there wasn't anywhere to go, the noise just pressing in on you all the time, from all sides, inescapably, and she hated that feeling. Much better to move away and actually talk in private.
