Circle of creation

The Circle of Creation is the gathering hub for all Pentacle mages in the Sacramento Concilium, with chapter houses for all five Orders inside.

Located east of Sacramento and far outside the prying eyes of the inner city, the Circle of Creation awaits the mages of Sacramento. Despite being a replica of the Westminster Abbey, the sleepers who come by never seem to notice it. The wards built into the structure have made sure of this. To all but the Pentacle the Circle is essentially invisible, ensuring the safety of those who enter and engage with one another. Whether it had always been here for the Awakened was hard to say now, but it was the site that the Awakened gather to mingle and discuss official matters.



It is a time for simply for mingling among the Awakened. The common area is large and open, but over the course of the month it's inevitable that people may bump into each other. The official concerns of the Consilium are put on hold as a more lighthearted experience is shared among this community of the Wise. Ultimately, this is the opportunity to let the proverbial hair down. How much so is up to them.

Also a reminder, Sanctuary threads are not official Consilium threads. Those under an incarceration sentence may not attend a Sanctuary thread.



Sancturary is not a single event, or formal Consilium. It's a compression of time to represent the comings, goings, and intersections of Awakened throughout the month at the Cirlce.

[Chambers]

On this particular morning the hierarch moves into the circle with a little pace, not that there was all to much to do, maybe the paranoia of awakened life was upon him in force today. Dressed in a fine light grey three piece suit, he makes his way over to the cork board but no real changes need to be updated as of this moment, the copies of the previous months minutes are added to the shelves for the orders to take, noting as he did each quarter that only the arrows seem to take their copies.

[Mateus]

This place is big! is the first thought in Mateus' mind as he gazes at the Marvel that is the Circle, hidden from Sleeper eyes among many of its nice properties.
Dressed in a light gray jacket over a white shirt and gray pants and without any spell on, Mateus walked into the Circle of Creation. The place was indeed huge. And ... apparently no guards he could see at the entry, at least without magic.
Mateus spots the well dressed man and approaches. A lone person in that huge place makes the place seem even larger.
"Excuse me," he says to the other man, his accent showing him as a non-native English speaker. "I am a newcomer. My name is Mateus. I hope I am at the right place. I have texted a person named Salem about my arrival and I am to meet with him in a few days, but I thought I could come here even before meeting him." Not knowing who he is talking to, he choses to not assume much.

[Chambers]

One benefit to large open spaces is that noise travels, and the ceilings of Westminster Abby had incredible acoustics, so the sound of approaching foot steps is registered quick enough, a glance up from his work makes the Moros pay more attention however, he did not know this mage. For a mage he must be to have entered the circle of creation.

The introduction is brief and when he responds Chambers own voice has the hints of a British accent to it. "Hello Mateus, I am Chambers hierarch of the consilium in Sacramento." Over a year already that's scary to think about. "I know Councillor Salem." However his posture does not lighten yet. His shadow name like so many others was up on the cork board after all. "No word has reached me about acknowledgement to take place." Not that they did normally but he was making a point. "And I'm afraid as you can see he is not currently here to give credence to your claim." With so many enemies at their door, trust was in short supply, Paranoia was at premium and well, that was nothing new for mage society. True the circle was open to all mages of the pentacle, but as had been proven some others cold enter, and even pentacle mages were not necessarily friendly.

[Aurora]

The Shaman walks into the building, the sound of her heels announcing her entrance.

She was a bit, ok a lot more dressed up, then usual. Having had a business meeting before stopping by the Circle. And while technically she didn’t have to dress professionally for it, she decided to. She was guaranteed the part, being the only one who could do it, but dressing up was fun and she didn’t get to do it often.

Sipping her coffee, she was not surprised to see Chambers, but was a bit surprised to see yet another new face. Two in two months? Was there something in the water?

Addressing Chambers first, “Good to see you Hierarch, hope you are well.” A nod of her head, a sip of her coffee again.

“Seems there is someone new.” Looking to the new face. "I'm Aurora, Councilor of the Shaman."

[Mateus]

The Hierarch and a Councilor... he did arrive early.
"Pleased to meet you both." he replied. He addressed the Hierarch first, "It is unfortunate Councilor Salem is not present. I have approached him through the proper channels from mutual acquaintances soon after I arrived in Sacramento. " He is not sure whether his presence in the Circle is a problem, without him being accepted by Salem first. But Chambers hasn't explicitly told him he is not welcome in the circle nor the Thyrsus Councilor seemed alarmed by his presence.

He turned to Councilor Aurora then. "Greetings, Councilor. I am Mateus, I am a new arrival in Sacramento. I was telling the Hierarch that I am to meet Councilor Salem in a few days but I assumed it was fine if I arrived here without meeting my councilor first. " His voice, after the Hierarch's words, carry a bit of a question about whether he should leave or not.

[Chambers]

Aurora arrival receives a warmer smile and returned greeting. Her introduction also makes it thankfully easy to address her. "Councilor Aurora, good to see you. I am well enough thank you, yourself?" And it need not be said he was grateful for her presence, if this new mage did turn out to be a threat or enemy Aurora did swing the odds into a more favorable chance of survival.

If it is a pleasure to meet Mateus remains to be seen. Hence the offering is not returned. "Well then Mateus, given you do not currently hold acknowledgement in the consilium, and are not here today seeking it." If his the information provided was on the level then that removed the primary reason most mages first visited the circle of creation. "I feel rather lead to ask, what are you hoping to achieve here today?" It was not a formal gathering, no planned meeting, this mage had wandered in off the street, seemingly without need or purpose. So the question is asked. And suspicion remains.

[Aurora]

Ah, so he had reached out to his Councilor.

There was a shrug to the new face, “You know the whole saying with assumptions and all. Did you let you Councilor know you were moving up the meeting with them? I know I would like to have that information if I had a new Shaman in town, get the acknowledgement done sooner rather than later and all.”

The smile returned to Chambers, “I can’t complain, happy to finally have the weather warming up.” It was no secret she enjoyed the spring and summer months.

[Thirteen]

From out of the Free Council wing, a small black bird came flapping it's wings. It swooped about the open area before settling on a piece of the fancy stonework of the cathedral some ten feet up. It looked at Aurora and Chambers briefly before settling it's black eyes on the stranger. "Caw!"

A moment or two later, Thirteen came out of the same door, closing it behind her. Today she was dressed in a plaid skirt, black knee highs, cute little leather boots and her motorcycle jacket over a cropped Van Halen t-shirt. Her thick red afro was on full display, and her fingernails painted black.

"I told you, we're not stoppin' at In n' Out Burger. The last thing you need is a milkshake, Eric Draven. I got to-- oh." She stopped speaking as she looked up and observed the same stranger. After a moment of wary staring, the Acanthus glanced towards the two Mystagogues. "Am I interruptin'?"

[Mateus]

To the Hierarch, Chambers wasn't it? He answers honestly after a moment of thought, " I thought that since I have started - but not finished - the process to be acknowledged, it would be beneficial for me to show up and announce my presence even if I am not an official member of this Consilium at the time. I don't want to step on any toes accidentally and I would also like to meet people, mages, that are part of the consilium I would like to join. "
Mateus has not tried to look at the board or copy any names or phones from the board. If the officials think he needs to know anything before he joins, they will tell him, he assumes.

To councilor Aurora he replies "I omitted to inform councilor Salem that I would be here today, a lapse on my part. I didn't think that the acknowledgement would 'move up' even if I do run to councilor Salem here. Considering we have already arranged a time and place for our meeting I thought the acknowledgement would happen at the arranged time." Perhaps Salem wanted to first look him up more, but the councilor is right. He should have sent Salem a message to let him know.

To the red-haired woman, he simply nodded and said, "Pleased to meet you. Mateus, I am a newcomer."
