The jug jaw can be said to be his most flattering feature, after the badly broken nose, limp locks of hair and sharp shattered teeth. He wears a long poorly made overcoat, suspenders keep trousers up over a ill fitting white work shirt. A battered fedora is his only accessory.

It's one of a few point of high pride for the ogre, skill and knowledge of pledges was in some lost communities a mark of renown. And he doesn't get to show it off all to much, so it is rather nice to have it acknowledged. "Hm. Well keep it mind if you ever need the lost equivalent of lawyer." Sure lawyers also came with a price, but it was often worth it to have a dubious pledge looked over, much like you would any important contract.

Wisdom imparted the ogre had nothing more to say on the matter. Jasper had owned up to it and was willing to move forward, as was the Autumn king despite the knowledge he now had that Jasper had been part of a broken pledge. That with his habit of disappearances, this might not be consider entirely safe for the ogre. "Uh. Right then so a medial curse to balance the scale." As had been established that's what it would take. "So. What would you like your boons to be, more specifically I mean." They had made back to the discussion of the final details.

The real side of Jasper looks very similar, tall and lanky with a lithe build. The glaring difference is his head: a large shaggy head of what looks like an Irish Wolfhound rests on his shoulders. A pair of expressive green eyes and alert ears give him an alert and kind look to his features. He still has that same rugged good looks about him, despite the blocky canid snout he has. His leather jacket looks very well made and hangs on his lanky form almost like a second skin, the furred interior looking soft and blacker than the night.

He gives a nod and a chuckle. "I haven't had much need for solicitors in my life before now, but this could certainly prove useful."

The Beast did have a history of broken pledges, but not on his part, though the Ogre doesn't know this. The Strays had broken up before the man who would become the current Ashen King had made his way to the city. He had never known Jasper's old motley mates. Perhaps that's a blessing. He didn't have to hurt by them the way the Beast had been. The wound is old but still hurts now again. Trust given and then broken is hard to give again. He did have a penchant for disappearing at time, but that's partially from him not having a permanent place to call home. When you don't have roots, nothing really keeps you in one place. Perhaps this will help change that for Jasper. Perhaps not. Only time will tell. "Well, if I'm gonna help maintain her, some skill in carpentry and whatnot could be useful, no? Or maybe a bit of helping defending her and everyone else if we get attacked? I'm a grand boxer but could always use a little help hitting harder. Don't really know shite about weapons though.." he offers. "As far as the blessing? With what your providing for everything, making a bit of money on the side might be easier, or.. I'm not sure. I'm open to suggestions."

It's surprising there aren't more lost solicitors, lawyers and the like really. Between the use of magic and knowledge of pledge crafting you would think some would naturally gravitate to the field. But maybe they were just to unstable for such high intensity situations?

The ogre nods, to start with. "Hm. Yeah a little skill in crafting wouldn't go amiss." That made some sense. What didn't was the following offer. "Oh. Well now I'm not asking you to risk anything for Edna's." No that would stray from the endeavor. "Ha. If anyone dares kick up trouble there, well they have me to content with." And he wouldn't let such easy offering pass him by. "Uh. Well then for my side of that I think a little skill in meshing with a wider range of people would be rather helpful to me in the season to come." However the request for the blessing the Ogre has to grunt and shake his head. "Ah. Now I'm going to have to suggest you rethink that, I can't make straw spin into gold." Pulling money out of nothing was rare, difficult and risky. So much so it rarely took in a pledge. "Hm. Now If this works out we can revisits the pledge when it runs it's course and include finding you paying work that might be able to shift some money to you independent of the pledge itself. But not this time around." Making money the mundane was rather dull yes, but it was far more reliable and consistent.

Resources requires ST approval and even then it's only for a scene as it says in the venue house rules so wouldn't work for our season long pledge.

The Beast nods, thinking over the Ogre's words as he tears into another piece of barbecue chicken. "Okay.. You're not asking me to risk anything, but I'll be damned if I'm not gonna help if it happens," he says with a shrug as if it were just a matter of fact. To him, it was. You defend where you sleep, where you eat, with tooth and claw. He nods to the Ogre wanting to gain a bit more skill in hobnobbing and he smirks slightly. Good balance there in drawing it a bit from a pledge with a Spring courtier, who are generally well known for their expertise in that. "Hmmm.. Maybe a bit of more knowledge in the occult for me instead of crafting for me. I already know a good bit of crafting, but know little about the weird things out there..." At the mention of not being able to make money from nothing, he nods, chuckling softly. "Sorry, right.. Um... Maybe..." he looks at the Ogre across from him. "Maybe a bit of fighting prowess... I'm a fairly competent boxer already if I do say so myself. Maybe something like that... To you know, better defend the freehold," and Edna's.

Right! I forgot about that house rule. No problem.

The ogre grey fingers drum on the surface of the table as Jasper speaks. "Ah. Well I'm not stopping you if must. But it's not part of the pledge that needs to be clear." And while the offer was he had no doubt well meaning, he still doubted Jasper grasped exactly who he was, or how he solved problems of that nature. "Hm. But if someone attacks Edna's or anyone under my roof, they become become a missing person statistic you follow?" Cannibals do have a unique perspective when it comes to sorting out trouble makers.

Raised eyebrows make his bulbous eyes look larger still, he had not been expecting that but it was a fair deal. "Hm. Well if a little knowledge of this and that and all things wyrd is what your after, Autumn is the court to go to." And seeing how he had asked for what spring was best known for well, it was fair the ask got returned. Hands leave the table into a wide shrug. "Uh. Sure if that's what you want I think we can accommodate it." Well it sounded reasonable to the ogre anyway. Which just left. "Huh. As for me, I think I'd like a little anonymity myself." If the beast agreed to these terms then they had everything they needed.
