[Chambers]

Circle of creation

The Circle of Creation is the gathering hub for all Pentacle mages in the Sacramento Concilium, with chapter houses for all five Orders inside.

Located east of Sacramento and far outside the prying eyes of the inner city, the Circle of Creation awaits the mages of Sacramento. Despite being a replica of the Westminster Abbey, the sleepers who come by never seem to notice it. The wards built into the structure have made sure of this. To all but the Pentacle the Circle is essentially invisible, ensuring the safety of those who enter and engage with one another. Whether it had always been here for the Awakened was hard to say now, but it was the site that the Awakened gather to mingle and discuss official matters.



It is a time for simply for mingling among the Awakened. The common area is large and open, but over the course of the month it's inevitable that people may bump into each other. The official concerns of the Consilium are put on hold as a more lighthearted experience is shared among this community of the Wise. Ultimately, this is the opportunity to let the proverbial hair down. How much so is up to them.

Sancturary is not a single event, or formal Consilium. It's a compression of time to represent the comings, goings, and intersections of Awakened throughout the month at the Cirlce.

[Corn]

Corn is dressed in dark somber colors for December, his mood dark as the overcast sky. It has been months now that he has been practically confined in the Circle with very few distractions. The bargain with Philip was not finalized, the interrogation has not been completed, the investigation team has not gathered anything yet. Corn's mistakes have crushed him and his family and while his fellow Awakened were willing to help or professed so, so far only Chambers has taken a real step to help. Cloud would soon be of an age to start talking. Being confined wherever would hinder his development. He will grow without a father and in perpetual danger thanks to the exposure to this accursed hidden world; speech impediments would not help him.

[Skye]

Walking into the sanctuary from the Arrow quarters, dressed for the season or at least the biggest compromise she was willing to publicly show out. It felt strange enough to put on enough makeup to give her a bit more color, to compromise from dark colored clothes no. Her trusted knives as always at her back, along with an archery glove on her left hand and a waterskin at her side.

Heading on over to place down a selection of various gingerbread loaves and soft gingerbread along with some caramel stuffed soft gingerbread cookies and lastly paper plates along with some more traditional gingerbread cookies. Dearly hoping someone else would bring something to drink, else at least she had water for herself based on how common alcoholic materials were.

Cutting up a few slices of each to make it easier for people to just grab one as she fills a plate with one of each and walks over to the one other person already here, head turned up to be able to look into the taller man´s eyes as she holds out the plate for him.
”Please have some Corn, and please take the leftovers as well.” Giving him a look of partial concern, and partial sternness as if the words were not a request more akin to a command.

[Corn]

Corn sighs but he has not much fight in him, so he takes a piece from the cake his friend offers to him. He seems like he has lost weight.
The gingerbread tastes well but to him, it could be ash. "Thank you, Skye " he says to her. "I am at the 14th picture, so far. How nice of you." he says to the arrow, some warmth finding its way into his voice. " You have been great support." He says but soon, his mood darkens again. "But I worry. It has been months and as far as I know, the investigation team hasn't started its efforts yet. We will see..."

[Skye]

Shaking her head as he takes a single piece and attempts to push the whole plate into his hand.
”Finish the plate please, what are some of your favorite dishes? Need me to run you any more errands?” Lightly tilting her head with a wide smile upon her lips and lightly shaking to make the tip of her santa hat dingle around a bit. ”So you are actually engaging in my seven mysteries rather than just trying to quickly solve them, I feared you would just search for them without taking in the books, tell me did the theme resonate with you?” The ending might be a bit strong but if he can see the meaning so will it be worth it. ”That is an issue with our community, we are either fast as lightning or slower than snails, the boon though is that any foe that does know our world or us would take that into account. Hence if the miscreants behind it are indeed awakened ones so will they have prepared for that.”

[Corn]

The theme? Corn thought realizing there may be more to those pictures as he hasn't seen the hidden word yet. "I do engage in your seven mysteries and I love the idea. I could simply leaf through the pages and gather them all, but where's the point in that, especially when a friend went through the trouble to create this for me? " Skye pushes the plate to him... how long has it been since someone cared for him? Well, he could imagine his wife and relatives would be worried sick about him but such simple moves to show that someone thinks of him as a person and a friend, not just an Awakened pattern, helps. Thus, Corn takes the plate. "I am not in too festive move, Skye, but I will do my best."

"We should talk about the bow, some time."

[Skye]

”I am happy to hear that, had to use a computer and a printer to get it all, and you know how well me and technology go together.” I wonder how many youths would even survive a week in the deep wilderness with their overreliance on these things. ”I meant the theme of the books though, their root of Egyptian umm is lore the right word? And their deep meaning of self growth, sacrifice, insight, looking back, and relearning the core fundamental of who yourself are. How each new key pushes the characters to grow, and to accept more of the world around them as they start to see the fullness of lifes many complexities.” Nodding as the plate is taken, glad it was indeed accepted. ”Festive or not you need to eat, or you will grow weak in mind and body alike unless you take caution to not do that of course but food is definitely the easiest route. So I ask again what are some of your favorite dishes?”

Raising her left index finger and spinning it in a slow downward spiral.
”I would enjoy that, do you have any idea how to get the string to be able to be both flexible enough to both be able to be slithered, constantly at the ready, able to have the firmness to be able to draw the arrow back, and still be malleable enough to be able to be slithered? This is the grandest issue I have encountered in attempting to make something through sleeper means. You could of course have it inserted into the bow, and quickly pulled out but that makes the length of the string to long hence it does not serve its function.” Shaking her head. ”There are some foldable manners that would solve it, but that would make it hard to keep it hidden and easy to draw as well, my pixie size certainly doesn´t help either.”

[Eidolon]

Eidolon strode into the Consilium, a broad smile upon his face. He gave a cheerful wave to the others as he made his way towards a seat, but his eyes were drawn to a sight that made his heart sing: a table piled high with gingerbread goodies.


"Ah," he exclaimed, a twinkle in his eye, "Gingerbread! I'm an absolute sucker for these holiday treats."


With a childlike glee, Eidolon grabbed a plate and piled it high with the delectable treats. He found a cozy seat, put his feet up, and settled the plate of goodies onto his lap like a treasure.


"Well met, lads and ladies!" he announced, his voice brimming with holiday cheer. "And how are you all doing on this fine evening?"

Dressed in grey suit trousers a shirt, suspenders and a coat the Councillor of the Moros arrives to the circle carrying A winter vegetable pie with a parmesan crust, which gets placed on a side table for any who want it.

Looks and a warm smile is given to each mage present. "Greetings all." But first business. He approaches the board and changes out some of the notices, putting new ones up. Including the Agenda for the coming Consilium meeting.

[Corn]

"Oh, yes, I do like those themes and on top of the self- and world-discovering journey, the archaeological and historical lore behind it is solid. " he tells Skye .
The question about favorite dishes hits him harder than he expected. His jaw tightens, his stomach constricts like a fist. The meals my wife made for me... Corn thought, the meals my mother prepared before Christmas and Easter. The Pork my mother-in-law, may she rest in peace, made for Christmas. "Talk of holidays and festive meals reminds me of ... things I prefer to avoid thinking about. " Corn says. What a lonely, empty existence is the one they lead, thanks to their enemies.
Shaking the dark thoughts, absent-mindedly Corn replies "Pork with butter and cooked with lemons and ... honey it was? I don't remember. Something sweet." May Petunia rest in peace. That was a marvel.

Eidolon arrives, enthusiastic. "I am glad to see you well, Eidolon." Corn says. "We have to inform the consilium about what we found in that house. "

Chambers arrives bearing gifts, as usual. "Greetings, councilor." Corn says. Then he sees Chambers writing on the board. Ah. He turns to Skye again. "Some things I have done in the past have come up. You will probably not like what I will reveal although I think parts of it have come up in our discussions." he warns her.
