Vincent shrugged as he headed to get his ball. "Yeah the little creature is alive and well, he is probably the most spoiled dog in the world. Anytime we get together someone is throwing him something to eat." Vincent thought if he had ever seen his friend use her bow, "Honestly I am not sure, I have not had a chance to take her hunting with me so I would not know."

Vincent grabbed his ball and rolled it down the lane.

Then throws a gutter ball his second throw.

"I was living with a roaming commune, think of it as a bit like a circus but without the animals. We stuck to the Northwest but mainly stayed in the state of Oregon. We would live off the land mostly hunting and fishing, but we found a semi-permanent piece of land that we also used to grow some crops."

Unable to hide the smile upon her lips at the words.
”That is amazing to hear, do you have any pets of your own?” Giving him a curious look with the question. ”Ehh, archery is not for all, nor does it stick with most people. Not everyone can be Robin Hood or that fire girl people seem to wanna give so much credit. Not that I get why, sure she is not bad but not really that exceptional either.” Even that Disney princess seems more interesting.

Whistling at the first ball.
”Damn, you sure you not used to this game? That was awesome.” Then watching the second with a bit of a surprised face. ”Hey have you ever wondered what it would be like if you had bouncing railings around the lane, and the rule was that you had to have a set minimum amount of bounces, but a bit wider lane.” Starting to move her arms left and right in a widening gap. ”Like for example you make the lane two times or maybe three times as big, then have the pins dead center, the gutter is guarded by these bouncing stops and you have to get lets say a minimum of three bounces else it counts as a zero, and for each bump above three so do you get an extra point provided you take down at least half the pins as well, but no points if it just bounces without taking any pins at all.”

Eagerly listening to his words, seeming stuck on each and every word with shining eyes.
”Wow that sounds amazing, such an amazing little idyllic life, now that sounds like something to strive for one day. May I ask what made you choose to go for the concrete jungle over such an amazing sounding life?”

Vincent chuckles at the naming of Robin Hood, "Yeah you are right, but I think a lot of people like the idea of it until they try it and realize it is a lot harder than it looks."

"You're suggesting using the guards as one might do as a child. I'm not sure it would be quite as enjoyable, but it's certainly an intriguing idea. It could spare me some additional embarrassment." Vincent took a look at the pins and just shrugged.

"I realized I was often at odds with the troupe's leaders. Their commands and the way they managed things increasingly clashed with my views. So, I chose to part ways and ended up here, drawn by the abundance of nature in the area."

Rolling her eyes with a sigh at the comment.
”What is the damn fun with anything that you master instantly? Unless you have to slave away, dedicate yourself to it what is the value in the skill?” Had I just picked up the bow and been Robin Hood so would I have quit in an instant, so boring.

Shaking her head.
”No, no, those are guards for children. I mean ones that are made to be extra bouncy, to ready create a massive speed with each bounce, and with the widening of the lanes but not the area you need to strike so would you have to actually add a lot more skill. You first need to calculate the throw, then the bounces so that it will bounce right into the center and not the wider gap to each sides of the lane. It would be far harder to strike right.”

Grabbing her ball with a sip of the drink.
”Of course, damn some people really cannot just let things be good and work in unison.” Clashes always clashes. ”What were the clashes about, if you do not mind me asking?”

Vincent contemplates the game Skye proposes and with a shrug answers, "I would have to see it in action, but it does sound like a lot of fun. But the bumpers would have to be built with something to make the ball bounce more."

"Honestly I was the one that wanted things to change. I started to question the leadership and why we were doing certain things. This did not go well with them and so the decision was made to part ways. I did not leave alone, but soon found the few that left with me returned as they were not sure how to move forward without the troupe." Vincent had not thought about that specific memory for years, but realized it did impact the way he associated himself with others.

Soundly nodding as she takes a few steps backward, rushing up and shooting away the ball once more going for her usual tactic of half/half

”It would yes but what is the fun with working just within the current narrative, to not add in some little extra fun, I am sure there must be some way to make the ball really bounce.” Grabbing the ball as it returns to quickly shoot it of again taking the other half of the pins, almost feeling a bit bored as it is the same over and over.

”Strikes are really not my thing.”

Cocking her head with a swipe up of her drink, draining the rest of it in one big gulp.
”Ahh, that was perfect. What about it did you wanna change, or perhaps what about it made you wish for things to change? Change is an inevitability in our lives, even nature knows that.” Looking up to the ceiling. ”Seasons change all the time, leaves changes colors, falls off, becomes fertilizer and the cycle begins anew, in control but a constant fluxuation, things that grow stagnant only withers away and dies.” Nothing could keep stagnant forever.

"You are doing a hell of a lot better than I am." Vincent was not shocked it had been a long time since he last bowled.

"I'd rather not delve into the details, but suffice it to say, there were actions taken that contradicted who I am today. Moreover, these actions endangered more individuals than just ourselves." Vincent was hoping they would not pry further so decided to change the subject. "So how about you, what brings you to the city?"

A look to the scoreboard only to remember it was blacked out.
”Maybe but you vary more, endless same and same is dull, so stagnant.” What was the enjoyment if there was no change?

Looking at him inquisitively for a moment before shrugging.
”Cannot tell a stranger everything, maybe another time, if not I am a curious one but not one to pry.” Looking a bit taken back by the question, letting a silence hang in the air for a moment as she silently thinks. ”Good question, in my path of random intricacies so do I guess that the winds just blew me here, or perhaps blew me back.” Close enough to the truth. ”So my walkabout was over, and I decided to sit put once more. Guess I could not be the eternal nomad.”

"Ahh another nomad I see. Well, whether it be fate or circumstances, I am happy that I was able to meet you tonight. I believe that having friends of all ages is a good thing. One thing I have noticed is that surrounding people of like ages and minds makes one stagnant. And I so I am always looking for newer folks to just hang and chat with." Vincent was happy to meet someone that would not pry too much. As much as he enjoyed her company, she was still a stranger of sorts.

"So when you are not bowling or practicing archery what are you up to. I mean do you have a job, you learned that I was a bounty hunter, but I just realized I never asked what you did for a job. Or are you just currently studying to become a PI?"

An ever so light nod.
”There aren´t many places in this country where I haven´t been, be it walking through every state, Death valley or hiking trails, but a home is special as well.” And something to cherish. ”It does? That is not my experience, age does little now peoples culture, styles and past does make for a far heavier differential but then again I am not used to be around the same people for long so maybe that does play into it.”

”More like looking into how to study to become one, otherwise so do I mostly get into freelancing works, temporary things or seasonal work. I am quite skilled with various tools so there is always someone in need of my services that are willing to pay.”
