Edge of Darkness FAQ

Edge of Darkness is a role-playing game based on the (New) World of Darkness. Due to some confusion with naming conventions of the new Onyx Path releases:

• This is a not a '2E' game
• This is not a 'God Machine'/'Strix Chronicles'/etc game

Play-By-Post is a format where players take turns posting for their Characters, usually 2-3 times per week. Chat Scenes happen, but are arranged by the players and should not be considered the primary medium.

Characters

• A player is allowed up to three characters for the entire site.
  
• Character begin play with 30 bonus XP. Clarity/Humanity/Wisdom dropping is allowed for more.
  
• Players may not have multiple characters in the same Family (Clan, Path, Auspice, etc) or Organization (Covenant, Order, Tribe, etc).
• Characters must be, and appear over 18 years of age.

Submitting A Character
Please review the global Character Creation Rules. These apply to all characters, in all venues, and over-rule any venue-specific rules. After that, review the Character Creation Rules specific to each venue:

• Changeling
• Mage
• Vampire

Character concepts are often discussed in The Living Room, in specific threads:

Once you've got all your ducks in a row, use one of the Submission forms to submit your character for the venue StoryTeller(s) review:

• Mage
• Vampire

Players are required to make secondary accounts to post under for their characters, and require a character to be approved prior to creation.

It's up to the player to stay on top of their OOC business. Reading OOC posts, private messages directed to the player account, notations on the character sheet -- these are all your responsibility. Not logging in to your player account isn't an excuse.

Creating A Character Account
That said, we hope it's an easy and fun process. Here's how to get started:

• Register a new forum account ''after'' a character is approved.
• Link Accounts to your user account by going to Settings (top right of page), then the center page under your thread subscriptions will have your Linking options.
• Be sure to fill in your "main" (player) account info in your Profile Settings.

Quick Link Access
After the new character account is registered, the account should be linked to your main (or 'player') account.

The Wiki is not a general NWOD reference -- it's a reference for our game, here, on this site. Due to multiple concerns, the EoD Wiki has been pared down to setting information for our game.

• Please don't register to read the Wiki. Whatever you used to use it for is probably gone now.
