(( but he doesn't, he doesn't *lol* ))
Kreighton watches the people going to and fro, and then ends his gaze back on Anton. "Not a thing out of place. At least, not as far as I can tell. Hard to say in a place like this, really." He looks back in the direction he parked the lemon, and then frowns, his stomach metaphorically rumbling as he sees a lot of necks.
"Perhaps we should get going. I'm not sure what else we're supposed to gain from just watching them live."
But I'm not watching them live. Anton gave Crais a look of disdain, planting his pack onto the ground. "I've seen more living hand-to-mouth than most ever will, Crais. Nothing ever arranged like their middle, though."
The Haunt produced a pair of binoculars from the canvass pack, wiping the lens with a fold of his shirt. "If you want to leave, leave. I won't hold it against you. I want to watch."
Anton pointed the binoculars towards the center of the camp and peered through the lens.
Have Anton give us a INT+WIT roll at -5; WP allowed.
Damn... 5 Sux
OOC
Anton's unusually sharp eyes and wits pick out some interesting details. As he focuses inward, he sees shanties shifting slightly in the wind, revealing that most of the concentration are mere facades of trashbags, sheets, or similar; from a distance, they look as solid and real as the others, but are not. The central, dense rings are mostly show. Many of the silhouettes he sees within the rings never move, and have ill defined features; scarecrows.
Someone, or a group, has gone to great lengths to make the size and defenses of Squattaville much more intimidating than they really are.
There's a wet chuckle and the slack smile on Anton's face splits into a rare, jagged grin. He shakes his head and packs up the binoculars. He doesn't share what he'd seen with Crais, but doesn't bother hiding that he'd made some discovery.
"Now we can go, child."
He makes his way to Crais' car, wearing the same disgusting smile.
Kreighton follows Anton to the car, and slides into the drivers seat. "Well, anywhere else we need to go before the night is over?" He starts up the car and turns the heat up a little, watching nervously out the windows.
The two Sanctified agree to call it a night, and ponder what they've learned.
