Arnoud nodded. "I wouldn't be surprised if the Invictus were not overly eager to help the fallen back on their feet."

He paused, then continued, "It's one of the reasons I've chosen to declare myself Unaligned."

Arnoud pauses, to see how the other man will react.

Twist listened to the arguements, watched as support was called for and rejected, tasted the politics in the air. Not as thick as she would have expected given the circumstances- but the reaction to Lenny winning covenant reinstatement was also recieved with a bit of lack luster on the part of the court.

What thoughts she had on the matter pertaining to the Reeve and O Yama had already been discussed with Asa and Ishani. Unsurprisingly, their arguements simply reinforced her views. When Asa glanced her way, she meet his gaze calmly, her dark eyes conveying messages only for him.

*Who would have thought so many months ago that we would be here today. Eons it takes for some to change, but others...a kidnapping, an ascent, an agreement... such key events to turn the world of Sacramento's Kindred.*

Michael is silent for a moment not that he's entirely surprised. He went into hiding for how long after I arrived? And then Rosuto? Really nothing's been missing, still better give him the dramatic pause he wants. It will be time to meet with Ciara and any other Carthians.

"I see. Can't say that I blame you as you're probably right in that sense that they won't help those trying to bounce back. Still, should you need any assistance, regardless of getting back on your feet, you can feel free to call me if you should so need."

Will he accept it or will he try to keep neutral with his unaligned status and turn me away?

Lady Victoria Stamford

Victoria was pleasantly surprised at the Prince's decision and the outcome of the evening's events. Things would have been a lot more hazy if it wasn't for the cripple. The rest of the Prince's comments about Regents was something on her mind now that the trial was out of the way.

Turning to face the man that addressed her, Victoria smiled politely as he spoke. She was rather impressed that she received a proper greeting for once from a new comer.

"Mister Stafford, good evening. It is always a pleasant surprise to meet a member of the family. What brings you to Sacramento? Do you hold a Covenant affiliation?"

Dirge

The blind haunt clutched tightly at Cerberus' harness to keep herself from showing any signs of the nervousness that she was feeling over what she had just done. She wasn't sure that it was the smartest thing for her to do, after all Culler had helped her out a few times, but from the way he handled her reports and took no interest in actually listening to her assessment what options did she have?

As Dwight approaches her and speaks she is shocked out of her contemplation as he addressed her as Hierophant. She thought of objecting, but after giving it some thought she realized that there really was no one to take the job but her, despite not feeling up to the task, but she didn't think Jayant would want it so she resolved to speak with him tonight.

"Good evening, Acolyte Crown was it? There are few of us left, just you, Regent Nagaraj, and myself. I think we should both talk to him concerning that as I believe he would be our best bet. Unless he has decided to use this opportunity to remain unaligned. I don't know any of the others besides Regent Culler, and something tells me after tonight he will not allow me in his territory, despite the fact that we are family."

"Thank you, I'm glad this works out for us both," Erika nodded with a genuine smile.

She could have enlisted Dog, were she willing to wear shorter skirts, but she neither had the time nor the inclination to have a pet underfoot, or humping her leg, while trying to work.

Bidding Conner farewell, and satisfied that her concerns were accounted for, she quietly made her way out of the Court.

"I appreciate the offer," Arnoud replied carefully. As if he'd let the man know if he needed help, and show weakness. One false move, and he'd be this one's meal ticket to thicker Blood, no doubt. Treacherous waters, indeed.

"In the spirit of such generosity, I'd like to extend Hunting rights within my domain to the Carthians," he added, with a charming smile. "I'm glad that the Myrmidon was able to get the Covenant reinstated."

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

Or just watch everyone, because which of these monsters truly had friends?

Asa Clarke

Asa was surprised at the apathy, or seeming indifference, that all but Sheriff hopefuls showed for all the changes that were made. Or perhaps it was simply too much to digest for some. He'd certainly expected... something... at the announcement of the reinstatement of the Covenants.

He arched an eyebrow and nodded at Twist, and a small smile crept out. Looking out at the Court mingling, he made a decision. He knew the petite Daeva was bored senseless, and aside from Ishani's vested interest in the talk of the Sheriff position, she was now as well.

"Shall we?" he asked each, standing and offering a hand.

No doubt Ishani was still stewing over Cassandra's disappearance; perhaps he and Twist could take her mind off of that.

[Heathcliff Staley]

Heathcliff wonders if Culler had lost his senses altogether. Is he intent on bringing down the entire Clan with him, like a child taking his ball home, so no one may play? He expected much more than this from an Ancillae. His childishness may still be turned to the Clan's benefit, however, so Heathcliff wills his small, wan smile to remain amongst the predators as he answers simply, "The petting zoo is not something I wish to discuss."

Once O-Yama and Max make their way over to the Seneschal's gathering of Reeve candidates, he addresses them together. "Well, this has been an exciting evening, hasn't it? Gentlemen, let me be clear. That you all have been chosen as candidates for this position speaks highly of the Prince's faith in your abilities. It is my fondest desire that one of you will shine brighter than the others with the challenges we face this month, and be the clear choice for Reeve of the Domain going forward, and that the others shall remain as Deputies. Let us not forget the lessons of Horizon- we cannot allow the Danse to distract us from our vigilance. The safety of every Requiem gathered here is in your hands. The right Kindred for the position will recognize this and treat the responsibility as such. I have your contact information, gentlemen. Be assured you will hear from me in the nights to come." Because this isn't simply a referendum on the Reeve, Heathcliff recognizes. He has allowed his own position to come under attack with the lack of oversight applied to Culler's office. This mistake will be rectified.

"Now, if you'll leave us, Mr. Von Schusten, Mr. Heinz, thank you." Once the Mekhet candidates have departed, Heathcliff smiles at O-Yama and Arnold. "Gentlemen," he says smiling, "I believe a Clan meeting is in order, do you not agree?" Better late than never. "Please see to it. I will speak to you again at that time."
